Most boards seem to have a match day thread and a rival watch thread, so I thought I'd put one on here to discuss games on match days and to discuss teams / issues other than those of your own club. Also general musings on anything else that doesn't fit in a specific thread.

Two big games coming up tomorrow.

    Palace v Chelsea:

Palace will be looking for 3 points to put the pressure on Spurs in 4th, a win will potentially put them 1 point behind them. Chelsea will be desperate to avoid another defeat as they battle to avoid a relegation scrap. I reckon Palace will be up for this and will narrowly beat Chelsea.

    Everton v Spurs:

Spurs will want to try and consolidate a place in the top 4, a win at Everton will help. Everton have been pretty indifferent this season. Can see this one being a draw, which doesn't really suit either team.

  3. Good idea, PIXIE. Because you are banned from our Rivals thread.

We do, of course, have a lot of speciality threads, such as the wonderful "Mouser Watch" and "Daily Arsenal" threads.

The irony of his signature is of course lost on him.

Anyway, good win for the Hammers today. 3 points off of 4th spot. West Ham started the season brilliantly and then dropped off when injuries to key players mounted up. Do you think the Hammers can push for a top 4 spot when you get all your players back from injury.

We'll see HIAG. They are only 3 points from 4th at the moment. Granted that could change tomorrow, but you can't write them off just yet. They had a great start to the season, then were affected by injuries. They've had Payet, Lanzini, Reid, Jelavic, Cresswell and Victor moses out. It would be like Spurs losing Kane, Erikson, Alli, Dembele, Vertonghen and Lamela all at the same time.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say that if we have our first 11 available we can give any team in the prem a good game. I can't see a top 4 finish happening, again and I have said for a while, top 10 is the goal, the higher the better but it's all injury permitting really. We have been left without a lot of firepower for a while now, however we haven't lost in (8) games I think, the defense is pretty robust.

Considering you're only 3 points behind the Spuds, West Ham have coped remarkably well with the injuries.

  10. So, PIXIE, are you prepared to put your balls on the line, finally, and predict that Arsenal will definittely win the league?

Or predict that Spurs will finish outside the top 4?

If only you weren't banned from the Arsenal board HIAG, you would be able to see my prediction for Arsenal this season. <ok>

Also if you'd been paying attention, you will have noticed that I've said that this year represents a huge chance for Spurs to finish in the top 4, with Utd and Chelsea doing their best to avoid it.

  12. I reckon we should have a New Year's Day amnesty, and permit me back on the Gunners' board for 24 hours. You won't regret it.

I think the key for WHU is keeping Carroll fit. I know we all like to take the piss, but he's a real handful for any defense. You know what he's all about, but stopping him is another matter.

But, top four? Nah, not going to happen....

Have you ever thought that you may have a somewhat narrow view of life in general?

  20. Agreed. There'll always be a place in the Prem for strikers like Carroll.

Remember Duncan Ferguson? No skill, no pace, no brain; but he was a big, brave lad who knew how to put his head through a brick wall, and that scared the **** out of defences!
