Last minute effort: Ruddy; Martin, Turner, Bassong (c), Olsson; Tettey, Fer, Howson; Snodgrass, Pilkington, Hooper. Subs: Nash (GK), Whittaker, Johnson, van Wolfswinkel, Elmander, Redmond, R Bennett. Cardiff: Marshall, Taylor, Caulker (C), Turner, Whittingham, Medel, Campbell, Odemwingie, Kim, Mutch, Theophile-Catherine. Subs: Lewis, Hudson, Gunnarsson, Cowie, Mason, Maynard, Bellamy What happened to Bunn? And glad Bellamy isn't starting, although the stage is probably now set for him to score a late winner.
Also, no 4-4-2 unlike Tettey was rumouring. Personally glad about that, with the exception of RvW being on the bench, and the Whittaker/Martin debate, that's our strongest side in my view.
Feeling fairly confident and relaxed with this game, just hope we can play like we did against Chelsea and Arsenal but get a result this time.
Looking forward to this one too - looked at the last two games as an opportunity to adopt and adapt to the kind of style we can use in this type of game looking for a solid win. Fingers crossed that it all clicks today.
Struggling a bit to work out the Cardiff formation, it doesn't appear they've typed it out logically, as I'm fairly sure Theophile-Catherine is a full back. But, with Campbell and Odemwingie playing, is it 4-4-2? Hopefully that'll help us dominate midfield.
As I said on Twitter.. Hooper has had to wait patiently for this chance, and although he was quiet against Arsenal these are the type of games he should and need to score goals!
No wes in the squad is odd for me. He may not be in everyones strongest 11 but lets not forget after our 10 game run last year he got a new 3 year deal. When he plays well we play well.
Touble is Hoolahan never seems to have a half decent game he's either very good or goes missing in action.
