Norwich City v West Bromwich Albion Saturday 5th April 2014 Kick off - 3.00pm at Carrow Road Yet another dismal away performance saw supporters frustrations rise once more, as Norwich City were just blown away, 3-0 by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium. The result coincided with a few of the teams below the Canaries picking up points and reducing the small gap that existed. Thankfully we saw a result that must have brought a smile to the Norwich faithful as Sunderland lost at home to West Ham on Monday night, and it now looks like the bottom three places are booked by those currently occupying those places, however we should not take this for granted. This weekend sees West Brom, another struggling team visit Carrow Road, where Norwich have somehow managed to play far better than they do while touring every other week. West Brom come to Carrow Road knowing that they are playing a team that are incredibly hard to beat on their home ground, something that Norwich fans need to cling on to for just a few more games before the season draws to a close. The game this weekend is one of two games for Norwich, where the chance of gaining some points appears to be realistic. However, with such a pathetic away record, even one point at Fulham next weekend would be quite an achievement. That being the case, the game with the hapless Baggies appears to be nothing other than a "MUST WIN", for both sides. Norwich beat West Brom 2-0 at the Hawthorns in December, one of only two away wins in the league this season for the Canaries. The result was flattering for Norwich, as West Brom had no end of chances on the day, but just could not find a way past John Ruddy or the woodwork. It was two break-away goals that snatched the three points that day, and points we should be very grateful for today. While West Brom have not been winning too many games in the last few months, they have been drawing games with some regularity, and perhaps Saturday is going to be a tougher game than many anticipate. The importance of this game cannot be stressed enough for many City fans, and only a win will suffice, and I must admit that I am in this particular boat, and believe 35 points may be just enough to cling on to Premier League status for another season. For those going to the game, whatever side Chris Hughton picks on Saturday, get behind the team, make so much noise that the Baggies players freeze (as they did last season), then hopefully we can begin to relax a little. Strap in tightly and hold on for dear life everyone - the really scary part of the roller-coaster is imminent! and West Brom ARE NOT on the beach this time round
Potential unsavory goings-on within 'the camp' at West Brom: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26857805 Can only be good for us, surely.
They tried to play it down after the match but it looks like it's no going to go away! Luverly Jubberly!
Evening Thai, I thought maybe you´d change your mind And fÃnd a match thread to unwind, Can you break your duck and bring them some luck ´twould be the best win you could find Senor Mel and his apostles Otherwise known as the Throstles, Aren´t chirping away this year and just may Wish they could awaken some fossils The likes of C. Regis and Co I remember them long ago, Where each year of course, they would be a force And match any footballing foe Not so these days, but as you say Drawing has become their way, And that they can do, once this game is through Here´s to three fair points Saturday. OTBC
Hi Thai. Good thread and I agree with everything you say. Except for calling this season a 'roller coaster'. A roller coaster has highs, remember. For me, this season has been more like a bungee jump. A plummet towards the bottom, then it seems like we're on our way up, but it's all an illusion and down we go on that elastic without ever hitting the bottom, up again, down again, and so on, and so on. The only good thing is with a bungee jump you never hit the ground, but end up hanging just above it. Let's hope.
Hey RBF, they still don't really deserve it to be fair, that was 90 minutes I will never get back In fact, I was so angry last Saturday, that it put me off drinking my beer! I demand compensation from the playing staff
well if the players don´t turn up this weekend, I can see fans demanding an awful lot more compensation than just for drinking money.
4-4-2 line up with Howson, Johnson, Murphy, Redmond midfield and Snodgrass paired with Hooper up front? All six capable of scoring. Would have Turner + Yobo in central defence and Olson and Martin full-backs. Leave Elmander at home and RvW looking at the rumour mill pages on the internet.
We better win this one or we will be in serious ****. Lose Thai and i will start doing the threads, i`m good at adding photos
both lawro and merson go for home win predictions. also lawro is predicting we will survive now, last week he wasn't sure
Which, of course, is totally rational given that since last week's prediction we have been thrashed by Swansea... I know I'm being unfair - he is probably basing it on Sunderland's result...
The Norwich U21s game is live on the Liverpool channel which apparently I have for some reason. Hope E.Bennett have a good game. As for Saturday, West Brom is the only team I can see us getting any points. Win it and we could narrowly stay up, lose it then I'll fear the worse.
Do you know what, I actually have a feeling Wolfswinkel will score tomorrow if he starts.fFeeling positive . We will beat West Brom tomorrow!
