Mata's goal against Tottenham in this picture looks like it has crossed the line: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17725064
Not a goal for me, you can see the shadow of the ball on the line. You can't use it as an excuse for getting mauled 5-1 though HD !
If you want to be petty get a ruler and put it on the right hand side of the ball and follow it down, clearly not fully over the line. Plus the fact that picture is at a favourable angle, if it was spun a few angles it would look even clearer than it is. Either you're going blind, or blinded by your own bias. Either way, give yourself a slap
Inclined to agree with the Flairy boy (easier to say than Juan "Spanish Flair" Mata) here, or at least it's not as clear cut as that Scott "Sour Grapes" Parker seems to think it was.
a picture i just checked out certainly looks like it was over, even if it wasn't it certainly excuses the ref a bit
The biggest thing about this "phantom " goal is that it has drawn the attention away from the most important thing..and that is that we gave the Spuds a bashing!!
Where I was sitting in line with the goal line i thought it had gone in,it was only when I got a txt shortly after from someone watching on tv that I was told it hadnt crossed the line (made it taste even sweeter !) Remember the ref does not have the benefit of replays and spinning the angle bla bla bla
It wasn't over the line but it also wasn't as far as the TV were suggesting either with their dodgy version of hawk-eye. BEA's feet were behind the line when the ball struck them, he then straightens his legs ejecting the ball. My view of the pictures I saw was that the ball was only on the line and no more. But as others have said there was four other good goals. End Of
What the picture really shows is what an amateur organisation ITV really is. They were suggesting it was about a foot off the line. The picture shows it was really a lot closer than that.
