Sunderland fans have snapped all of their allocation for the Black Catsâ game at Southampton a week today. Despite a near 700-mile round trip, travelling fans from the north east have sold out the away end a week in advance of the long road trip. Match tickets for this game were discounted, yet still it is a superb effort by the supporters to fill out their section at St. Maryâs in what will be a stern test for Gus Poyetâs team. Southampton currently sit in third place in the Premier League table following an incredible start to the season. Gus Poyet and Sunderland will be looking to keep their record of only losing one league game all season intact come the final whistle on Saturday.
The cost of the ticket is virtually irrelevant ...... by the time you've hoyed in the transport/hotel/bait etc an extra tenner for a ticket wouldn't bother people. Dunno why the tickets were discounted, probably Southampton's idea to get the same deal for reciprocal their lot. I couldn't get tickets but hope anyone who goes is singing all the way home, they deserve it.
Smug there will be plenty on twitter. Saw one earlier today. No way I'm going all the way down there though!
I'm running a small transport company, now I'm back in the UK, so can arrange jobs to any place ....... keeps the costs down. We've also started a Notts Supporters Collective to organise travel & tickets. We have around a dozen so far and you should send your details. It's not a formal branch, just a database of contacts so people like me and you aren't driving to matches with one or two people in the car.
Going back a couple of years, those round your neck of the woods that went on for about 20 miles with average speed cameras were a nightmar .
The roads round Nottingham all have average speed cameras .... it's murder when we're coming back from places like Southampton, on deserted roads, at 3am.
