Frenchman Massengo, 18, arrives from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco where he graced the UEFA Champions League. He was the first player to be born in the 21st Century to play in Europe’s largest club competition. He made six appearances last season upon his call-up from Monaco’s B side. Everyone at Bristol City is now looking forward to developing Massengo further, who will link up with Lee Johnson and his coaching staff for training on Tuesday. City Head Coach Johnson said: “I believe this signing is a real sign of our reputation spreading that a young talent like Han-Noah is willing to join Bristol City and he sees his progression and his future here. “I’m very excited to work with him and of course he is young, he has a lot to learn but he has the raw potential to be anything he wants. I believe he can go to the very top of the game.” Massengo will wear the number 42 shirt. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/massengo-is-a-robin/
£8m almost par for EURO's …. see the bank manager was leaving lulsgate with a suitcase full of EURO'S and the tea lady's cat was right a month or so ago ….lol 5 year deal?
Lot of cash to splash in an untried youngster but clearly the scouts think he has some sort of x-factor. Moving country us a huge step for the lad....good to have Fammy & Moore to help him with any linguistics.
Looks like he speaks solid English already which is a real positive. I know it's daft to get excited over a player so young but this signing is exactly the sort you'd expect of a mid-table Prem club.
Could end up same old same old, if he has a really good season and we don't go up, he will be off. Ever ending loop..
We can thank our Academy for Bryan, Reid and Kelly. Coppell for Bolasie. Cotterell for Kodjia. And Sod for Flint. Webster is the only player City have made profit whilst LJ has been HC. Less the £4million we paid and less a further 20% we now give Ipswich. For ALL of the above we must acknowledge the fantastic input we've never had before with Mark Ashton. I hope the Arsenal lad will become the 54th signing this week, fingers crossed.
LJ had nothing to do with the £20million for the likes of Bolasie and Kodjia. And even if your logic is correct about 'getting them to a level' dare I ask about Engvall, Dionny, Kent etc etc and most of the 40 others. Bloody hell, our club captain LJ brought to replace Flint, is beyond help as a Championship central defender. And Sunday - another 'getting them to a level'........... Your opinion and others is different to mine. Nevertheless, I truly hope you are correct.
It’s fact the players you mentioned were brought in by others , it’s also fact they were sold for a profit under LJ, to suggest he had nothing to do with their development defies logic, of course there are failures, possibly too many, but that’s another story. It’s also fact we are higher up the league and better thought of under LJ, it’s not just down to him but he’s played a part.
Thank you ROD, I can always rely on you. They don't understand, I mean, as if I could be wrong ! Ps - Any news on Banksy returning ?
could be the other non English Frenchman they are after doesn't come! with the risk of someone having already commented similar [ i click reply then do ] …… who was it moved Reid to CF? who was it gave him/ them an opportunity when a few of the past managers couldn't wouldn't or didn't have the balls! sometimes your bitterness leaks through excessively! tea ladys cat says … we may just get 2 more through the door and 1 might go for dosh and 4 for loans!
Clutching at straws jgf, even LJ admitted moving Reid up front was a fluke. He had an injury crisis with his strikers. Hey, we'll believe what we want to believe.
But don't forget, LJ single handed brought in Tammy whom saved us from another relegation which would have cost us millions... I'd say currently, LJ is quite a bit up on the monitory stakes!!
