Who wants to involved in the Mexican drug industry? So bloody has it become, that mass killings are now almost becoming a daily event. As the headlines blared today, another 49 people were killed and their headless corpses were dumped by the side of the road. According to police, the victims were mutilated so as to hide identification. Some among the 43 men and 6 women wore drug tattoos which the authorities hope will help in naming these people. It would seem that the dead were killed as much as two days before hand, then transported 125ks to the dumping site where they were piled like a load of rubbish. Some were in plastic bags, others were naked, but all were severely disfigured. Some everyday people are not too concerned by the events, claiming that it’s just the druggies fighting among themselves. While this is true, it also seems the the killings can be rather indiscriminate. Among other mass killings, innocent people have been found among the dead. It looks as though the cartels really don’t care who they kill. Police have stated that if anyone gets in the way, they will also wear the same fate as the others. Numbers are important to the killers. 20 looks better that 15. In the last 5 years, 50,000 people have been killed in the drug wars. Earlier this month another 18 headless bodies were found in two abandoned cars in a popular tourist spot called Lake Chapala. Two days before, 4 bodies were found in bags in a canal in Boca del Rio. On the same day another 14 dismembered bodies were found in Nuevo Laredo. They also found another 9 hanging from a bridge.
No mate. I smoked for years as a young man, so I can hardly claim the moral high ground. The above piece is just a bit of info on a subject that I found to be a real eye opener. Drugs are here to stay, the problem here seems to be a lack of monies spent on law enforcement in the last 20 years. (And corruption.)
Maybe. One is almost a lawless waste land, while the other is supposed to have stable law and order. I would have thought that Mexico would be a safer place to visit than Afghanistan.
I mentioned the **** going on in Mexico a while ago, hundreds of brutal torture/murder videos kicking about.
Its completely different. In Afganistan, the natives are defending their land against an illegal invasion, in Mexico its rival drug cartels murdering each other.
