    Taken from the page above..

Cardiff City can today confirm the acquisition of Joe Mason from Plymouth Argyle on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Twenty year old striker Mason joins the club after completing a medical this weekend and agreeing personal terms. He has now travelled to join the senior squad in their pre-season tour in Spain and is Malky Mackay's sixth signing of the summer.

The first chance to see Joe in the blue of Cardiff, along with all of the new signings and squad will be on Wednesday July 20 as we host Celtic at Cardiff City Stadium.

Joe had come through the youth ranks at Plymouth and qualifies to represent the Republic of Ireland despite being born in England. He is seen as an exciting prospect and will look to develop further under the guidance of Malky Mackay at Championship level.

I like the fact it's been announced on a Sunday afternoon too - more working around the clock and over weekends to bring in signings please :p

Good to have another one on board, seems the medical took a while to do!
Most important that these players have some time together before the season starts.

Weird this. Because he's an unknown quantity, there is far less excitement for this one. He could be a bewt for all we know. Great to have another young face. Only just turned 20. We won't lose money on this one and it's certainly no gamble.

    What's a "bewt"?

Do you mean "newt" as in "pissed as", or could it be the Aussie slang "beaut" as in "Hey, look at that Sheila, what a pair of beauts"....<laugh>

I hope we get Goodwillie as well and end up with a pair of beauts. :emoticon-0105-wink:

'Bewt' is ye old English, meaning:

"Though doth retaineth the god given strenths to kicketh thyne pig's bladder and other such spherical-like implements into the holiest of holies at the speed of a hawk and the stench of a wench"

And yes Sparkey, it also means, irrelevant to football:

"Thyne retaineth thyne desire to smasheth the Gareth's of thyne Sheila"

    There.

    Understudy for the beast?

Looking at the photos on the City's facebook page Parkin is looking, how can I say this, less portly.

I just mentioned him in a thread this morning. After they said a deal had been struck nothing else was mentioned until now.

Is said to have cost us £250K, so not a Free Mason then!
If he turns out any good its money well spent and nice to see youngsters being bought in.

I think we should nickname him Perry - but he needs to show an iron side to his game and not get a burr under his saddle.

    Sorry. <doh>

He hasn't broken any ASBO's has he? That is the normal way of treating ASBO reoffenders. I'm sure many of our Swans friends will confirm that from true life experiences.
