Can't help but like him. Just watched his interview on City Player, courtesy of WOL, and I have to say that I was impressed with what he had to say. He was scathing about Malky and Ole, and I suppose who can blame him. Cornelius affair blasted, but not a mention of Velikonja, who rumour has it was instigated by Tan. I don't know how he can get the fans back with Russell at the helm, but the first thing I would do is to throw open the new stand to youngsters, to get them involved in supporting Cardiff City. As lifelong fans, we started young, and now find it difficult to shake off....don't see a lot of kids at the games. I for one will give the manager my support till the end of the season, we are so close. The Brighton game was the nearest I have seen to entertainment for a long time pals! Slade in...God bless Tan!
With your cool sunglasses and your reference to Masky's Tan I thought we were going to get an insight to your mid-winter break. A week in the Bahamas perhaps!!!!
I guess the jury is considering it's verdict with a final decision due in May. Attitudes seem to be softening a little.
for sure, the jury's still out. But there seem to be some green shoots of recovery. However, I guess we wold all wish to have some real performances in these last months to convince that Russell is the guy to take us forward.
Whatever happens this season, Slade isn't the guy to take us forward. He may be an OK guy on the face of it, but there's still something lacking in his make up even at this level. Difficult situation to be put in by Tan when he took the job but Slade had his chance and for me blew it with some hopeless judgement in the transfer market at this level in the summer - God knows how we'd fare with him in charge if by some chance we got to the top tier. It's not just his choice of players to sign though. When things go right like against Brighton, he rightly takes some credit for the performance but I've said it before, that formation with Pilks and Immers up top in the middle was forced upon him by events beyond his control. Now Jones has gone and with the suspension of Ameobi (thank God), he brought Immers into the fray for a MOM performance against Brighton. It was inexcusable to leave him benched for the Charlton game before that, and when he left him there and brought on serial failure Macheda after about an hour to replace O'Keefe, I nearly blew my stack. We've just brought Immers to the club to do a job and he sends on Macheda who he's trying to get rid of - what the **** was that all about!!
