The visitors were ahead after 36 minutes when Adam El-Abd brought down Charni Ekangamene and Brad Potts drilled in the resulting free-kick. But Elliott, introduced as one of two half-time substitutes by manager Steve Cotterill, headed City level. And the Jamaica midfielder earned his side all three points when he volleyed home from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas's corner. It means Bristol City move out of the League One drop zone for the first time since November and sit 20th, while Carlisle are two places and three points above them. VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM Bristol City midfielder Marvin Elliott told BBC Radio Bristol: "I'm happy with today but I don't want the super-sub tag to stick. "We were told [at half-time] to up the tempo. We thought we were a bit flat. "Today was more about the result as we've got ourselves out of the bottom four on goal difference. "It's important that we strike up a little run now to get away from some of the teams." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25891875
Can't understand Cotterill. If he wanted a player to change the game and atmosphere with dynamism, leadership, guts, 2 goals etc etc...... Why the f**k didn't he bring on Gillett.
I saw this comment on OTIB and thought of you.. I thought Pack was the better player out of the midfield yesterday. He just needs to keep it going! I'd also like to see Gillett back in, I felt we missed him yesterday. So for me on Tuesday.. Wagstaff.....Pack...Marv....Gillett....Cunningham
Not just one poor performance, he's been poor for a while now.. But he can't be dropped because he's one of our best midfielders, SC needs to sit down with him
Bobby Reid has been poor for a while now,may be the pressure is getting to him, give him a rest we need the midfield on top of their game if we are going to survive.
I wouldn't say he's been poor for a while. Inconsistent yes but its not like he's been rubbish for a run of games. Was only against Watford he was getting rave reviews. Was also one of our only bright sparks at wolves..
Reid, even at his comparatively tender football age, produces moments of magic that lesser players like Gillet and W. Elliott can only dream of. Plenty of time for Bobbie to rest in the summer!
Young players are bound to be a bit inconsistent - maybe time for him to have a rest for a couple of weeks
If Marv is about to go through a hot streak then we should roll out the red carpet for him for the next month and rest Reid to let him get his legs back. Then he can return fresh for the remainder of the season to steer us clear of the dog fight With Pack and Bryan available we have enough cover to rest Reid for a short while, and we also have Morrell for the odd game
'With Pack and Bryan available we have enough cover to rest Reid for a short while' You didn't mention Gillett or W Elliott - well done Rickster. If only Cotterill was half as intelligent as you.
