mmm, this asks more questions. 1) Who is publicising this? 2) Obviously how would any "bid" be structured? How much cash when and future add ons etc. 3) This would be a grand test of the "fire sale" theory. If any bid short of "crazy money" were accepted, then it would be clear everything and anything is for sale. My answers 1) Somehow, even post Roy Keane, Ipswich have a habit of doing things through "the papers". I don't like this, whatever happened to the "we only comment on players when they've signed". 2) The rumours of £750k to Cardiff have been swirling around for ages. I believe in Malky MacKay's honesty in that he didn't make a fuss over the out of contract Don Cowie. I thought Watford FC were particularly "naff" in the way they dealt with it ....... 3) Any fee would have a longer "structured tail" than Ashley Young, because in many ways I rate Marvin higher than him at this age. And one thing has not been mentioned ..... (with all due respect) how on earth can Ipswich steal one of our brightest prospect? And then there's the "we will throw Tamas Priskin in as make weight" - well at least someone still has a sense of humour. Ah that might be the same person who came up with the theory that Roy Keane was moving to Vic Rd. My message is simple - go away Ipswich.
My friend just text me saying that Ipswitch had come in for him. Probably as a replacement for Connor Wickham. The club have released on their official twitter saying how no bid has come in. £800,000 is a joke for such a young player. If we did sell him for that much I would also like 99% sell on clause too. Rubbish. Thanks but no thanks Ipswitch.
Just another made up story I think. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9134399.Ipswich_have_not_bid_for_Sordell/
If this is real, then foxtrot oscar at that price. An utter joke. Besides, Ipswich have already taken our star striker on a free this summer...
Funny about the star striker thing. We haven't beat u in ages, u guys hate Ellington, he's bound to get the winner I'd say in the first meet with us this season.....
I feel more confident about that statement than I do, "Watford FC are known as the Hornets". Ellington WILL get a hat-trick.
he's okay, he can be lazy at times and is very inconsistent...but he's young, and there's hope he can be a great player for the future, which is why we won't be selling him for silly money.
The way to get the best out of Ellington is to sign Jason Roberts as well. NE has been at his most prolific when he's been in partnership with JR at both Bristol R and Wigan.
Ipswich already have the dream team of Ellington and Priskin. Why on earth would someone who plays regular Championship football risk being relegated to third choice behind that illustrious pair?
that's very lovely of you...but...no thanks. There are some that might accept it though, for a match ball
