Dear syd, It was a really tough game. I thought we started really well considering that we were playing away from home. The crowd were terrific for us and we got the goal that I think was deserved. We had a good little spell after that but then Everton got their equaliser and then, of course, the game hangs in the balance. Simon [Mignolet]made a wonderful save at the end. From where I was standing I thought it was in, but he did well to make the save and Iâm delighted for him. Mignolet kept us in the game and it would have been cruel on us if it had gone in - great credit to him. It was a fantastic effort from the team - weâre missing some big players - but the playersâ commitment and determination was brilliant - you canât question that. Iâve been told all week about Sunderlandâs record at Goodison Park and I tried not to think about that. But when you saw the supporters across the other side of the field, you felt that you werenât alone. All the best,
Good alround performance from both team and supporters, brilliant atmosphere, were there any Evertonians there???
Excellent performance and result. I said yesterday, as long as we are in the hat tomorrow, I'd be very happy. I'm very, very happy.
