Never mind Rodgers I'm worried we will have pass the ball sideways or backwards In front of s**t like QPR Martinez for the next 10 years... Serving up dross again we look like Liverpool but In blue tbh Note to Martinez when we go forward we score....Like Barkley Just did
The way we play needs confidence to be effective, so when we're a bit nervous and the crowd are a bit edgey - like the first half an hour last night - we can look a bit static on the ball. Once we scored, tails went up, we started knocking it round with confidence and looked a different team.
Fickle crowds dont help us, they want the school of science.....mixed with moyes percentage play. i know what I would prefer, it didn't help that QPR packed the MF and we have a winger in Mirallas that like to keep cutting inside leaving Baines exposed when we lose the ball
The tension in the crowd last night was visibly affecting the players in the first 30. Some of those old bell ends in the paddock need to drink a few pints less and pipe the **** down. They really don't help ffs.
Some of them talk about the School of Science one minute and then are urging the CB's to launch it the next......
I understand what you guys are saying but a free kick In the QPR half at Goodison should not result In a ball played directly back to Howard hence boo's? I'm not condoning booing the lads at all but that should NEVER happen.. The reason for the edginess Is poor performances where have our full backs gone? Why are we passing sideways and back when players are running forward? I know Barkley scored a pearler but up until that point we were tripe and the big deflected 2nd made 2-0 highly flattering at HT We wont get luck like that every game hence the ****e we served up for the draw at home to Hull...
I posted this on JA when the same comments were raised. Because teams now setup to stop us, if the attack cant create a chance before the opposition get sorted at the back/or never come out what do you want us to do....hopeful ball and lose posession or recycle and keep the pressure applied? We kept pulling a very organised back 5-7 about the pitch to create chances and spaces. this is why we have been so good in Europe so far and it will click in the league
It has already been shown to work in Europe, you can't just gift posession away all season on a punt/half chance and then graft to win it back. Make th eopposition run and chase while we retain posession and work a good chance. we did take our foot off the gas against QPR last night, but we have a big game against southampton to play next, win that and its the Christmas push towards the top four. Our style of play means we are going to be fresher over the holidays than the gung ho sides
Unfortunately it seems like the same old story for Martinez. A technician manager much in the Rodgers school of thought. No adaptability. He might pull of a worldie with a high class team (like pep who i don't rate) but with a team where you need adaptable tactics, Martinez isn't your bloke. At a team where you are spending pennies (bar lukaku) you need a clever manager, one like big Sam (although i guess if no one ever takes a punt at managers like Martinez's then you'll never know). Maybe you need to be more patient but i know if i was a fan watching the ball get passed along the back a gazillion times when you have a big old unit in Lukaku i'd get frustrated. I was pleasantly surprised by you guys last year but looks like Martinez has reverted to type, in the process destroying my FF title run.
