Martinez in frame for Villa job according to BBC. Wigan have given him permission to speak to Villa. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13704421.stm.
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan told the Daily Telegraph he had granted permission but added he would be "very surprised" if Martinez left for Villa. Yeah we know the feeling the Dave
Haha, I'll be very supprised if Bobby leaves Wigan, he's done a job there of keeping them up for the last few seasons which has been vaguely impressive but I don't think Villa want to have a manager who can help them fight relegation. Then again Villa players would probably react better to his way of playing. Good luck to him.
LMAO @ shaper !! . If this comes true , Martinez will have managed over 15% of the current Premier League teams, just can't keep a job !!
he must be thinking about it as he is coming back early from his holidays, good luck to him , villa is a far bigger club and i think he would do well with them, like we say there is no loyalty in football only bigger and better ....
lol was intending to post exactly the same thing. Although towards the end of last season the system he seems to have been forcing on Wigan was pulling off as from my memory they were always known as a hoofball team. Think he will do better with Wigan this season than Villa, especially if Villa lose the likes of Young. Unless they get a new manager sharpish and manage to keep their big players...i may be talking stupid but i just think they may struggle.
Apparently Whelan told him he could sign for a villa this summer - but he meant a two bedroom one in Majorca.
Good bit of maneuvering by Roberto! Just making sure he was keeping all his options open, and just a ploy to get himself a better deal from Dave Whelan I suspect.
