Magic memories of my day at Wembley to see us win the World Cup in 1966. Thank you Martin for your contribution to the game of football. My thoughts go out to all his family and friends at this difficult time.

RIP Martin Peters, class player, class man...

Also a very special memory to Gerry Sharpe who died on the 17th ( As read on OTIB), he was on the verge of greatness when he had that terrible leg break, the snap could be heard all around the stadium, a personal hero of mine. RIP Gerry deepest thoughts are with family and friends.

    ...........and it's Christmas....

RIP Gerry …. like yourself Wiz, in the era of the " G's " there was some character players in those days. Some really good football and most of the players were home grown [ UK ] a lot of the players around this time were pretty much all a bit younger than me certainly none older! some that come to mind all "G"

Was lucky enough to see Martin Peters play a couple of times at the gate. Once for Spurs in the 1971 LC Semi Final and then for Norwich a few years later in what was one of their promotion seasons I believe.
Apparently he was a true gent.
RIP Martin and thanks for your contribution to English football.

I also remember Gerry Sharpe and the badly broken leg he suffered not long after I started watching City.
    RIP Gerry
