We may have only gone up 2 league places yesterday, but in terms of media interest in SAFC we've rocketed into the stratosphere over the last week, and that's all down to the charismatic Irishman from Kilrea. I think the press are as intrigued by him as we fans, maybe because he is unique in football, he does it in his own way, not to mention being a spellbinding speaker and total one off. While the others trot out the same old cliches every week, he demands your attention with that irresistible cocktail of charm and intelligence.
Some people are saying "I'm not getting carried away after one game". Well I say this, I've supported the lads for 50 odd years and we've never had a manager anywhere near as good as this bloke. I'm gonna get seriously carried away.

    Bang on mate.
I wouldn't swap MON for any other Sunderland manager in my lifetime. And that includes '73.

I read an interesting piece the other day about him not needing to be "pally" with other managers.
And there wont have been that many messages sent to his mobile from them congratulating him.

He is his own man and when he speaks people seem to listen.
He doesn't care about others opinion on him, it looks like.
All to the good for me. :)

Bruce was the first manager to get sacked this season, and MoN was the first new manager after a sacking. That's all it is. The same thing will happen if Kean gets sacked when the media focuses on who will replace him. It's a story to run.

Nice try and fail to deride MON's media charisma.

Nah. It's just a slightly annoying irritant that keeps coming back.
Fairly harmless even if left untreated...In short...A sad little infection.

The other manager who I remember as not being one for joining in was cetain Mr Clough. It diden't do derby of Forest any harm.

If he signed for the Unwashed up the road...you would have been creaming your pants. But Enjoy Pardew....Ashley/Pardew/Newcastle the perfect combo lol

Aye "Mr I'm only here for reasonable debate" as long as I'm deriding SAFC, is aptly described as a sad little infection.

    Who were Stoke playing?
Oh yeah that Top 4 Team the Spuds.
Who was all over the closing credits, as he was over the opening credits?

I haven't been on here for quite a while but I see Chaparse is still chipping in. He didn't quite manage to introduce the Skunks into the debate...................he must be slipping1
