Pearce has just signed for Wigan. Olsson would do a decent job for us.

Olsson would be a decent signing - great for Hume to learn from as well as he's been a good and a decent full back as long as his injury hasn't hampered him

He's a free agent - we still have up to 2nd of September to sign additional match fit players.

But we don,t know what wages etc these free,s are demanding, the market has gone crazy. Mind boggling sums for average players is now the norm. I am pleased we are out of the phoney world of Jim White hype, chose my words carefully there, but you know what I mean. <laugh>.

Yeah I keep hearing that but I've tried to find out and google is bringing premier league and championship back despite the blatant "League 1" in the search criteria!! piece of ****!!!

Edit - I tell a lie - finally found this:

    https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...emier-league-and-championship-clubs-1-9012840

    Which states:

Pompey and their rivals still have a few weeks in order to strengthen and bring in extra players, with the transfer window not slamming shut until September.

The deadline day for League One and League Two clubs is Monday, September 2 at 5pm.

It is later this year due to August 31 – the traditional last day of the transfer window – being on a Saturday.

Yeah. Might be that we can potentially get PL young players etc who weren’t taken on loan by Championship clubs etc.

We now become the biggest club in play with best facilities, you’d hope we took advantage of that.

Exactly. Big fish in a small pond now including loans.

We should be able to pick some decent signings up otherwise there's something wrong.

You’d think the bigger clubs would fancy having there young lads at a club with such a setup, top facilities and academy for development, get to play in front of big crowds.

That’s the way we need to approach it, we can likely get better players than we should on loan now as there’s nowhere left for them to go.

I bet there are a few good premier and championship players whose contracts have expired or been released, that could do a good job for us and are free, as well as loan fringe players, we have had a good few of them over the years welbeck alonso just to mention a couple
