    Hey folks,

Yesterday Martin Kelly did very well to demonstrate some thing to us. He can attack, and attack well. He was an attacking threat on numerous occations last night, and had a few chances for himself.

We all know Kelly is good and strong defensively.

But where does every one think Kelly will play in the long run? Right back or centre back?

Kelly has the makings of a great player, and would already walk into most teams in the league. He plays centre back for the england under 21's.

I think Kelly has great potential in either positon. But I am beginning to see him more and more as a full back.

Right back for now and then center back in a few years time. He's young and can get up and down the wing at the moment but he's a big lad and I see him switching to center back in the future.

    This <ok>

The problem is he's a trained CB so the switch to right back (although he's an excellent RB) maybe the reason for the occasional injury. Basically the switch has put certain strains on him physically that's he's not used to. For me Id keep him at RB until Agger or Skrtel leave/retire - then move him to CB. I've seen him play lot's of time a CB and he's a beast. Like Luv said he's a big lad and I think he has all the perfect attributes to be a CB.

But for now as we only have two real quality RB's he has to carry on where he is. Hopefully his body is adjusting to the new position and his injuries become less frequent.

With Turtle, Agger and Coates in the team, Kelly is best thriving on the wing for a couple of years, then replace Agger, when the time is right.

He had a very good game last night, both defence wise and providing options down
the right going forward. Can't see Johnson leaving any time soon so we have quality
options at right back and Kelly can also switch into the middle as and when required.
I suppose it partly depends on the progress of Coates and Wilson as to where Kelly's
    long term position will be.
He's giving us options and versatility which is a healthy situation.

I'd like to see Kelly at right back, Johnson at RM and move Henderson to CM alongside Stevie G to see how that works.
