New Notts County manager Martin Allen lived up to his 'Mad Dog' nickname by asking fans for "somewhere to kip" for him and his dog on the club's website. ..Allen, who was controversially poached from Barnet by the League One strugglers earlier this month, used his trademark 'man down the pub' style to thank fans and club employees for making him feel welcome since he joined last week. Calling them 'top lads' and 'top girls', he commended the club analyst, office workers, bus drivers, masseuse and players. He also thanks the fans for supporting the team in defeat, before making his unusual request at the end of his sprawling message. "I am trying to find somewhere to kip," he said. "I don't like these posh hotels. I don't want nothing flash. "If you know anyone, it's for me and my dog Monty who is a very good boy. "I need somewhere, preferably on the south side of Nottingham to kip, have a bit of food maybe and kind of be a dosser who will keep himself to himself, who works long hours. "Very polite and well mannered, friendly, funny, kind, caring, occasionally mad. If anyone can help, please contact the club." Allen took over on April 11 with the club in the League One drop zone, losing his first two games - which came within days of his arrival - before claiming an important win at Tranmere on Tuesday. His side lie 19th, two points above the relegation zone. Eurosport
