I'm frustrated and disappointed. I feel like we had a really good start, we were on top of the match, we had chances to score. And then on a set piece, it's almost their only time down the pitch in the first half, we go down one nil. And so, I have to find a way to get more out of the group. I have to make sure we don't feel sorry for ourselves and we have to find a way to stay strong and keep going. But I obviously take responsibility, and I have to find a way to get more out of us and make sure that when we're on top of games we don't lose them. I feel like we've had this feeling a lot where we've played really well, we're on top of matches but we find a way to lose. It's a young team, so we're going to have to accept that there's sometimes going to be mistakes in there, but we have to find ways to become winners. We have to find ways to turn performances into points. We've been in this place for a little while, and it feels like it's moving in the right direction but it's not enough, we have to get more out of it. We've tried to create more stability defensively. This game we gave almost nothing away, almost nothing. And then we try to be dynamic with our movement, and try to create advantages in transition as well. And we did that, especially in the first half, but we just didn't have enough to make the extra play, the last play. So, yeah, gotta keep pushing, and then now with a big week against a rival, two huge games. Gotta find a way to be at our best.
What a load of crap, as usual, only thing that will lift this team will be a new coach and I don’t think that’s going to happen because the 49rs won’t allow it
Blah blah blah. We’re improving every game We have been the better team The players are starting to learn it now… Have to stop myself there as heard it after every game and it sounded bollox months ago. The facts are that every coach knows what to do against Leeds. His non tactics are a joke. Waffle the doggy doesn’t waffle as much as this twat. We are about to lose against scum twice the board need to act now because it could already be too late to survive. Forest are gone, 6 points ahead of us and it’s now odds on Leeds, Southampton and Bournemouth are relegated
Oh and I forgot it’s been 12 months of Marsch and hes still saying the players are now close to knowing his tactics. A fkg year and half of them are his players and some played for him before. The man’s a joke and yes Milky I will say it Bielsa had Leeds playing worldy football inside 6 weeks this dickhead….
I needed help with some runners going beyond me to make the 2 CBs who only had me to deal with work and make space. Almost like he was wishing Bielsa was about with wide runners. We now have Sinisterra Summerville, Georginio, Gnonto, Harrison who could have helped. Why not put Georginio with Bamford instead of taking him off. Why carry on with that squashed melee congestion where only Forest would be happy. His changes were yet again a joke
All of it ... blah blah blah not my fault blah blah blah players need to show clarity blah blah blah we need to be stress free blah blah blah almost there blah blah blah win the big moments blah blah blah take our chances blah blah blah find ways to lose blah blah blah still not my fault blah blah blah need more time blah blah blah young group still learning blah blah blah getting close now blah blah blah never my fault blah blah blah Said Bielsa NEVER!!
This is such a simple yet clear statement from Bamford ... it's also easy to fix, PLAY WITH WINGERS!! Bamford's point is: Use wingers to receive the ball out wide then drift inside, at pace (Raphinha was a master at this) Have full backs overlapping into the space left behind (see how often Ayling and Alioski got beyond the defence as the extra man) Their full back follows our full back, centre back get drawn to our winger, they have a midfielder dashing back to help out Leeds can now get a midfield runner into the box beyond Bamford causing panic (Klich was very good at these late runs) Opposite wing gets into middle on edge of box, occupying another of their midfielders (harrison and Raphinha did this well) Opposite full back gets into box on far post for any crosses that land there (Alioski was good at this, Ayling too) Bamford is now left with one centre back to turn inside out with his clever runs off the ball None of this is achievable without wingers ... playing through a congested midfield means everything is slow and prone to breaking down It was very clear yesterday when Cooper shored up his midfield that Leeds had no space to play through the middle, yet Marsch persisted banging his head against a wall ... Marsch Ball has failed miserably, and it won't get better after twelve months of trying
Totally agree Billy. Of course we'll eventually win a few games and it might even be enough to stay up but there's no future in persisting with this style of football. Marche can change tack or keep persisting until he gets fired but when you're not winning games against those in and around you it really is time to take stock and consider what's really at the root of the problem.
Marsch cannot see when to make changes to players or tactics. He persists with his give it to Gnonto and everyone pile down the left method. Players falling over each other and tangles of teammates legs with no way out of the melee. Its like watching Sunday League and wide open spaces down the other flank. Steve Cooper knew he needed to stop Gnonto so brought on Aurier and that was job done. So Marsch should have kept Bamford on and brought on Georginio to help him up top, shove Sinisterra wide right and leave Forest to block Gnonto but still have him as a threat not to be left unmarked. Roca, Adams and McKennie could have been great as protection just incase of a counter attack but massive on the offensive to aid the strikers. Yet all Marsch does is swap like for like which is ridiculous. Struijk was pants so Firpo needed to come on but I would have added a midfielder not swapped Rocca and I would have added a striker not swapped Bamford Yank Lampard
That's not what he said. I'd like to refer you to the original transcript at the very start of this thread and tell me which bits of it you disagree with. I understand that you like Bielsa. I understand that Marsch has the annoying habit of blabbering on and on, it winds me up too. However, I don't understand what part you disagree with.
