just seen this for the first time, hardly x rated was it? i know a butt is a butt but it was more of a push and how could it of hurt with that great big afro cushioning it? just was not as bad as i thought it was going to be.
Headbutt looks like a 3 match ban. Though I do think deliberate acts of violence as well as the level of violence should mean more severe punishments. A player could muck up his tackle by raising his studs, barely scratch the other guy and receive a straight red card and three match suspension. Yet another player can intentionally assault someone in an unprovoked attack, knock him out and get away with the same.
Suarez/Terry got longer bans for racial abuse, both would have been better off punching Evra/Anton instead
He admitted he had a "crazy moment" and gave a sincere apology! David Moyes , to his credit , condemned his action! I think that is rare today that offenders hold their hands up , like that, to their shortcomings, so I am pleased to forgive them!
That would be mad but at the sametime I can understand why some might say it should be more, there are plenty of "violent conduct" 3 game bans for leaning your head in, very light slaps, etc. Maybe it should be that you split the 3 game ban between the two players when the player goes down holding his face when they're not even hurt. For example when Barton went down after being slapped by Gervinho at the start of last season, 2 games for Gervinho and 1 for Barton.
Getting really bored with the play acting. Emerson was awful for it for Corinthians at the weekend and the Barton one was embarassing to. Play acting, diving, grappling at set pieces, technology, racism...still so much to sort out in our game. Least Platini and co are sorting out the important stuff like ruining the European Championships.
