Bristol City see significant bid rejected for Championship midfielder. Bristol City have seen a seven-figure bid rejected by Norwich City for Marley Watkins. Lee Johnson is looking to bolster his squad at Ashton Gate this month, with Watkins reportedly on his radar. Reports have confirmed that the Robins have seen a significant bid rejected for the winger by Norwich, who only signed the player during the summer transfer window. After seeing his contract with Barnsley expire during the summer, Watkins moved on to Carrow Road as a free agent, rejecting a number of other opportunities to link-up with Daniel Farke’s squad on a three-year contract. However, the 27-year-old has been used sparingly since his move to East Anglia, making just 18 Sky Bet Championship appearances, with only nine of those coming in the starting XI. Watkins has been left out of Farke’s matchday squad in Norwich’s last two Championship fixtures, with the winger’s attitude called into question by the German. It is understood that Bristol City are keen to capture Watkins this week, with a bid over £1m rejected by Norwich already. The Robins face competition from Barnsley, however, with the Tykes keen to take the 27-year-old back to Oakwell. The Verdict Watkins has struggled to make the impact many expected him to at Carrow Road this season, with the winger struggling to establish himself in Farke’s starting XI. It is no surprise to hear of Championship interest in Watkins, who has previously impressed in the second-tier, despite his limited opportunities at Norwich. Watkins would be a good addition at Ashton Gate in particular, with the winger having the potential to add another dimension to a squad pushing for promotion. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...ant-bid-rejected-for-championship-midfielder/
Is he a left footed player? If so,it makes sense, if not then not sure we need another right sided wide player.
This was before we signed Kent so it’s probably not happening now. Plus Norwich have to keep ex amount of players registered born in the UK as they seem to signing other nations at the moment.
