is every shrews player available at the right price. could we countenance a 500k offer for young tom or 750 k for sharps. in theory gt must be trying to build on the remnant squad, but how tempting and disruptive would bids for our better players be. floreat salopia.
all players are marketable at the right price, and all players want to progress in their careers, the trick is selling them for the best price and replacing them with a better player at a lower price...but that requires a very special wheeler dealer manager and a manager that can get average players playing together as a team, it will be very interesting to see our first 11 come the beginning of the season compered to what we finished with this season..perhaps a little more bottle one hopes!
Bradshaw is not worth 500k yet and Sharps is never going to be valued at 750k as he hasn't youth on his side to make the investment worthwhile. Bradshaw I could see going for 250-350k with a string of clauses attached to him.
To be honest, I'm quite surprised with the alledged level of interest Bradshaw is getting & from the clubs involved. Don't get me wrong, he's a great prospect etc. All I'm saying is, I wouldn't be surprised if it's simply pure speculation & he plays a big part in Towns forthcoming season. I agree with Mats however, in that should he go then 250-300K with add-ons would be acceptable.
Guess that means Mason Springthorpe got us a packet then I wouldn't be selling players now: the key is continuity, if we keep the current squad we could still compete and Sharpsy is priceless; can you imagine Grandison(who's still a CB really) replacing him, or Goldson? (At least not yet) Bradders would be a massive punt as he's not even a regular and part of his game is his pace/ workrate on against tired defenders late on.
Totally agree about keeping continuity in the team. We have had 3 manager in six years? How many squad changes have happened in that time?
this has always been a big problem when missing out on promotion, it just puts our better players in the shop window for the vultures to circle, there is no doubt going to be a lot of activity before the start of the season, lets hope GT can keep the backbone of the team together, but its going to be tough, it could mean a couple of seasons in the wilderness before we come back strong if he gets this wrong.
Everton's entire academy/scouting system gives me the impression that it's very well run indeed; every applicant is approved by Moyes himself according to FourFourTwo. They must've seen something in Springthorpe, he was the reserve team goalie
