Good Guy.best of luck to him.

Unlike certain posters on here(no name - no pack drill) I have
    a soft spot for Coventry.

Really pleased for him. Loved him as a player for us and he did an admirable job as manager at both Rotherham and Barnsley, both very small clubs with very little resources. Would like to see him do well at Cov and get some well earned recognition and move to bigger and better things <ok>

Good luck to Mark - top man for us when he was here and deserves his chance at Cov. Hope he does well and gets the best out of Sideways Sammy and Cody.

Never have liked them, even before 1985. Not that I hold a grudge

I don't have any special dislike for Coventry, the team or the city but I can't think of anything good their either.

I have a soft spot for Coventry - my wife was born and brought up there and one of my daughters lived, until recently, a few hundred yards from the Ricoh - and I have seen them play numerous times over the years. To say they are now a Club in crisis is an understatement. Usual problem - locally run well managed Club lured into a buy out promising new Stadium and massive funds for new players all of which was music to the ears of the supporters. Moved from old stadium in Highfield Road - which the club owned - to the Ricoh Stadium - which the club don't own - and then the money dried up and they have drifted lower and lower with no end in sight. I suspect that a lot of people do not realise how big a City Coventry is and the potential it has. My daughter used to go every week until last year and there lies another major problem - the fans have given on them. No fans, no money, no sign of a rescue and rapidly heading for administration - Robins will do very to stabilise things and keep them in Div 1. As a sign of the lack of interest I recall having many discussions with Cov fans on the old 606 but look at their board on not606 - nobody is remotely interested. Good luck Mark but I fear you will need more than just good luck!!

I would have thought the team to blame in that match were Everton(who had already won the league),not Cov,along with PL for not playing all the final games at same time.

Fortunately this type of incident will not happen again.

Still Maestro,it would be a dull old world if we all agreed and liked the same things.<ok>

Following Norwich City's relegation, Clingan requested a transfer and was sold to Coventry City. He proclaimed that he wanted to play in the Premier League and Coventry offered him the best chance of getting there. Unfortunately for him, Coventry didn't make it to the Premier League. Two years later, however, Norwich City did secure promotion to the Premier League and Clingan was mercilessly taunted with cries of "Sammy Clingan, it could have been you." by Norwich City Supporters when the two clubs met on the last day of the championship season.

Unless things have changed I recall that he rejected a new contract with Cov at the end of last season expecting a line of eager suitors but nobody came in for him and he is therefore currently unemployed.

    i hate coventry.

    always have done.

i'm too young (for once) to remember the events of 85 so they have no bearing on my hatred and i'm not even sure i can offer any sensible reason as to why i dislike them so much, but believe me, i always check their results and hope they've lost! i take enormous pleasure seeing them bottom of league one but as i say, i can't really explain why. maybe its something to do with david speedie...

i do like mark robins though - i'll never forget his perfect hattrick at boundary park one freezing cold, monday evening - great little player who could have achieved a lot more at city under better management. i wish him well (through gritted teeth)

I remember a game at Highfield Road where we missed an injury time penalty for a 5-5 draw.Best of luck to Robbins.
