    Chelsea v Blackburn

Chelsea simply have nothing to play for because they cannot finish in the top four after Tuesday's defeat by Liverpool.

Their only route back into the Champions League is as a by-product of winning it this year, and they will not want to risk getting anyone injured before the final against Bayern Munich on 19 May.

So probably the most significant thing about this game for Roberto di Matteo's side is whether Gary Cahill and David Luiz are fit enough to take part, because they need some minutes on the pitch ahead of the final.

Even so, Chelsea will want to win to sign off for the summer at home in the right way and head for Munich on the back of a win.

Nothing rides on this game for Blackburn either, because they are already down.

I'm surprised because generally, out of all the teams down the bottom of the table, they have shown the most battling qualities. But they have lost seven of their last eight games and a run like that at this stage of the season is always going to be costly.

It is all a bit of a mess off the pitch at Ewood Park too by the looks of things. The leaked letter and sacking of deputy chief executive Paul Hunt this week sum up the uncertainty there.

I get the feeling from Blackburn's owners, the Venky's, that they are making things up as they go along.

They need to formulate a plan for life in the Championship. They are going to have to sell players but, if they keep Steve Kean on as manager, they need to give him some of the money generated to sign players too.

    Prediction: 2-1

    Everton v Newcastle

This is an interesting one. Newcastle would be a big scalp for Everton and, if the Toffees win, they will finish seventh and above Liverpool.

The Magpies had the right approach in trying to keep things tight rather than attacking Manchester City last Sunday because, when teams have beaten City this season, that is how they played.

If you go and take City on, with the attacking players they have got, you are asking for trouble. So Newcastle boss Alan Pardew was correct to try and be a bit cuter than he might have been against a lesser side. It is just that City were the better team.

Newcastle will also be pushing hard for victory because they know they could still end up in the top four depending on how Tottenham and Arsenal do at the weekend, but I have a funny feeling this will end up as a draw.

It has been a good season for Everton but a very good one for Newcastle. I'd like to think they will be up at the top of the table next year too because we have seen that they have some very good players, and they shouldn't be far away even if they lose one or two.

    Prediction: 1-1

    Manchester City v QPR

Manchester City need a win to make certain of winning the Premier League title - and I think they will get it.

What has won them the title? The fact that, come the business end of the season, their really top players have lived up to their pedigree. If they do see off QPR, it will be their sixth successive win - anything less and they would finish up empty-handed.

Their manager, Roberto Mancini, has done really well in trying circumstances and it is no coincidence that for that run of wins, Mario Balotelli has been nowhere near the team.

Is it the first of many titles? Definitely. City's owners are not going away and they are only going to make the team stronger.

It adds to the spice of the occasion that it is former City manager Mark Hughes going back to Etihad Stadium, needing a point to keep QPR up.

It makes me laugh that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has all of a sudden become Hughes's best mate this week when they spent most of the time verbally battering each other when Hughes was in charge of City.

Hughes signed quite a few of the City players who have been key to their title bid, like Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott, Gareth Barry and Pablo Zabaleta.

The way he was sacked - when news of his exit broke ahead of a home game against Sunderland in December 2009 but wasn't confirmed until after the final whistle - means he will have a point to prove on Sunday, especially since he was on course to meet the points targets he had been set.

Basically, City's owners decided he wasn't their man. Although he wasn't the man to win them their first Premier League title, he definitely laid a few foundations.

I don't think QPR are capable of defending well enough for 90 minutes to get a draw but I think they will get beaten and stay up because, for them to go down, Bolton need to win at Stoke and I just cannot see Wanderers doing it.

    Prediction: 2-0

    Norwich v Aston Villa

Norwich drew at Arsenal last week thanks to the kind of performance they were producing week in, week out not so long ago.

Up until their trip to the Emirates, the Canaries were in the kind of form that is a classic indication of a team that has just reached 40 points and thinks they have done enough.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert has obviously rallied the troops because that was an outstanding draw and I think they will finish the season on a positive note.

They are up against a Villa side that are all but safe mathematically because of their vastly superior goal difference to the teams below them, but they have limped to safety and are in a serious mess.

It is difficult to see where Alex McLeish's side are going. Is he staying on as manager? I'd like him to because he is one of football's good guys, but I don't know if he will because this could be just about it for him.

Villa will stay up but, regardless of that, I think McLeish will leave because the problem is, if he does stay and Villa make a poor start to next season then the fans are going to be chasing him out.

The Villa fans put that advert in the local paper last week calling for McLeish to be sacked and, once the supporters have decided you are not the man for them, that is that. They might as well make a clean break at the start of the summer.

    Prediction: 2-0

    Stoke v Bolton

This game is so important for Bolton but it is difficult to see them going to the Britannia Stadium and winning, especially because winning anywhere has been such a problem for them.

Like Blackburn, they have picked precisely the wrong stage of the season to go on a bad run. Wanderers have lost only one of their last five games, but they have also won just one of them.

I don't know how Bolton boss Owen Coyle will approach this game. Will he go gung-ho? I wouldn't have thought so. In fact, he might play it depending on how QPR are getting on against Manchester City. Even so, no matter what is happening at the Etihad, Bolton are in for a very tough game.

Even if Wanderers go down, though, I still think they should stick with manager Owen Coyle. He has already taken Burnley up out of the Championship, he will get some parachute money to play with and he also has some very good players at the Reebok already.

    Prediction: 1-1

    Sunderland v Man Utd

Sunderland will push Manchester United hard, as they have done with every top team that have gone to the Stadium of Light.

They beat Manchester City there after sitting in and making things difficult for them, so I can understand why Martin O'Neill was unhappy when City boss Roberto Mancini called this game "easy".

But Sir Alex Ferguson will pick a team to win this match because he has to go for it to have a chance of pipping City to the Premier League crown.

And I do think United will have too much for the Black Cats, although it will be close.

Will a win be enough for them to retain their title? Maybe not but the fact they might only miss out on goal difference shows they are not very far away and, like City, they could end up with 89 points, which is an outstanding haul.

What do United need for next season? Well, with the Champions League in mind, they definitely need a playmaker. Paul Scholes has come back and done extremely well but he cannot go on forever.

They also need a proper right-back and they will need another striker because I think they will let Dimitar Berbatov go and I don't know what is happening to Michael Owen.

Nemanja Vidic will be back, which is a big plus and, in goal, David de Gea will be another year stronger and wiser.

    Prediction: 0-2

    Swansea v Liverpool

I can see Liverpool going for this, and they might as well try to end the season with a win, especially because it has been a disappointing one in the league. Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez are in form and I think Steven Gerrard will want to play, injury permitting.

It might just be a case of the pressure being off them because there is not an awful lot for Kenny Dalglish's side to play for aside from finishing above Everton, something which is out of their hands.

Generally, Liverpool have been good away from home, and they will be buoyed by the manner of their win over Chelsea in midweek.

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has asked fans to dress as Elvis Presley to mark the fact some bookies said there was more chance of seeing Elvis than of the club staying up this season.

So there is likely to be a big party at the Liberty Stadium to celebrate an impressive first year in the Premier League.

Liverpool will look back on the season as a mixed one, but Dalglish's team do not need drastic surgery because, if you look back at the nuts and bolts of their campaign, they have dominated so many games at home that they have either drawn or lost.

They need some extra attacking influence, maybe from midfield, to change that.

But even so, I think challenging for the Champions League places will be even more difficult for Liverpool next season than it has been this one. The sides above them will all strengthen too.

    Prediction: 1-2

    Tottenham v Fulham

Fulham have had a lovely first season under Martin Jol and they have evolved as a team under him in terms of personnel and style of play.

The Cottagers have had some good away wins of late too, after initially struggling on the road, and they have got some really good attacking intent right through their team.

But Tottenham will be fighting hard for a win that would get them the top-four finish which, if Chelsea don't win the Champions League, will get Spurs back in that competition next year.

They would deserve it too, because for three months around the turn of the year Harry Redknapp's side were easily the best team in the league.

Do I see Chelsea beating Bayern Munich? No.

The Blues have moved heaven and earth to get to the final already but I don't see them coping with the Bayern front three of Mario Gomez, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Bayern are at home too, and Chelsea are without John Terry, who is their leader. So I just don't see Roberto di Matteo's men doing it, and that would be good news for Spurs, or whoever does finish fourth.

    Prediction: 2-0

    West Brom v Arsenal

New England manager Roy Hodgson will be saying goodbye to West Brom after a really good first full season at The Hawthorns, so there should be a real carnival atmosphere.

Hodgson would love to go out with a win but Arsenal will go there knowing what they have to do to finish third.

I know the Gunners have not been great of late and, especially defensively, they are back to the side they were at the start of the season when they were a bit unsure.

But I think Arsene Wenger's men will do just enough to edge this one and guarantee Champions League football next season.

Wenger still faces a big summer, though, especially regarding Robin van Persie's contract, which ends in 2013.

That needs to be put to bed as soon as possible, one way or another, and, regardless of what the club offer him, it is down to him and what he wants to do. He will never ever be in a stronger position to decide where his future lies than he is at the moment.

As far as West Brom are concerned, they need to find a successor to Hodgson and I can see why former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri has been linked with the post. He has the experience they will want to keep the club in mid-table.

Birmingham boss Chris Hughton will also be in the picture but there could be a few jobs going in the Midlands this summer: the Wolves job is up for grabs and the Aston Villa one could be too.

So all the good Championship managers who don't get promoted this season will be mentioned as possibles for those posts, as will your usual suspects like Steve Bruce.

    Prediction: 1-2

    Wigan v Wolves

This fixture had last-day drama written all over it a few weeks ago. Who would have thought both teams would know their fate by now, and for different reasons too?

Well done to Wigan for staying up because they have been absolutely sensational in the last few weeks. Wolves, on the other hand, have collapsed like a deck of cards.

All the Wigan fans will be happy campers after seeing their side make sure of survival against Blackburn on Monday, while I am not sure what Wolves supporters will be thinking as they wave farewell to the top flight.

Will they be back in the Premier League soon? It depends on who their next manager is, but I think owner Steve Morgan is ambitious enough to want to see them back in the big time after having a taste of it.

I think they will be competitive in the Championship, although they will have to scrap for promotion and it might take more than one season to bounce back because relegated teams don't just automatically start winning games in that division.

    Prediction: 2-0
