Jose Mourinho returning to Stamford Bridge is an undoubtedly big lift for Chelsea. You cannot question his record as a manager and he is an outstanding coach. Going back to the scene of your former glories does not always work out, though. I am not convinced he is going to make the difference, by that I mean win the league, but they will have a good season and I definitely think they will beat Hull. Out of the three promoted teams, Hull look the best equipped for survival. Tigers boss Steve Bruce has made some very good signings, such as Tom Huddlestone from Tottenham, and they have given themselves a fighting chance. Bruce himself will be key. He has been here before, and he knows what life in the bottom half of the Premier League is like. I'd argue that they will be more competitive than Cardiff or Crystal Palace. Lawro's prediction: 2-0 The bit I like; Out of the three promoted teams, Hull look the best equipped for survival. Tigers boss Steve Bruce has made some very good signings
Im surprised he would say that. I cant remember him having any positive things to say about us the last time we were up.
Seriously I'd take that. That is not by any stretch of the imagination the humiliation that it could be and no doubt will be for some teams at Stamford Bridge this season.
So so so so bored of people posting threads of other journos opinions. Who cares What happens will be and I really don't give a damn about what anyone thinks. What you really like is some ghost writers padding to a quick phone all made by ML predicting a Chelswa win. People make themselves wet with excitement when we get anything positive said and cry when we don't. All completely pointless and irrelevant
City can go there, relax and enjoy, no pressure. Could even win, do a Wigan job over Man City. At the end of August would be delighted with 5 points.
On his prediction page on the BBC site "Out of the three promoted teams, Hull look the best equipped for survival. Tigers boss Steve Bruce has made some very good signings" I think he is spot on and since it seems 99% of people have us down for relegation I think many will be surprised.
I've got an open mind about the Chelsea game. Think we could get summat out of it with it being first day and all, anything can happen.
Let's be honest - it is unlikely that we will win at Stamford Bridge, let alone get a draw. Unlikely, but not impossible. I believe...
Well last time at the Bridge we went with a team that included Nathan Doyle (he played quite well) and with a team that does not look half as good as this one was up 1 0 and nearly got a draw before Drogba managed to score from a free kick almost at the very end.
It's going to be tough at the bridge. Basically it could be any final result. Some points are in our favour some against. The mourinho factor The first game jitters. Facing a completely new opposition. So I personally feel we will get beat comfortably 3-0 or 4-0 I'd be relatively happy if we make a game of it and at least score a goal. But it could just as well be a 0-0 with ridiculous saves from mcgregor.
Listening to TalkShite and Noel Gallagher was on. Asked who would go down and he didn't say us Well, Noel's is the only opinion I needed.
