That looks like a decent starting 11 to me. And the chances are Jose will join so that makes a shout between Kelly and Johnson for RB. Personally i would go for Kelly, who would you have?
I think Downing, Gerrard, and Suarez will interchange throughout games. All three could play either position Or start with Gerrard in the middle, Suarez on the left and Downing on the right... Too many options
True, it's awkward though because you'd want 2 wingers to cross for Carroll but Suarez is more the inside forward cutting in from the left (?) and you have to include him.
First of all, ain't Carragher and Agger meant to be playing in opposite postions? (Carragher right-centre and Agger left-centre?) Back on Kelly vs Johnson - Tough decision.. It would depend on whether or not we signed a centre-back. If we didn't I might keep Kelly on the bench to cover Carragher or Agger if anything were to happen. Johnson on the other hand might be useful on the bench as he can cover the full-back positions and possibly both wings.

How come no one puts Aurelio in? I know he's usually injured, but if he's healthy, he starts over Johnson or Enrique, whoever is starting on the left, IMO.
We have to think about the future. Do we just need a good player for the match or could we do with a slightly less quality player who can gain experience in the match which could make them better than say Aurelio?
I don't think Aurelio would start over Enrique. Aurelio is usually on for his set piece delivery, and we have that covered with Adam already.
hmm, strange how the only outfield player who played in every game last season is on the bench for this season?? Wheres the Skertl love? He improved immensley under Clarkes coaching and is at an age where he'll continue to improve
Does anyone else think Glen Johnson is in trouble for a start if we sign Enrique? I would imagine it would be a fightout for right back between Johnson and Kelly if we sign Enrique and I personally think Kelly will win that fight eventually. Should we use Johnson as a right midfielder? after all his defending is pretty poor, he played RM a bit for Pompey and looked pretty good there.
