One all-encompassing 'good' and three 'bads' seems hardly fair... how about a 'completely indifferent to his appointment' button?
If my sums are correct if we take the same percentages for wins and draws of the record above we would get 38 points....would that be enough?
Didn't agree with Warnock's dismissal, but Hughes's record speak for itself. My preferred option would have been to stick with Neil, but in the circumstances MH has got to go down as a "good choice" for me.
Any manager with a 40%+ win record in the prem is good enough for me. The more I think about his appointment, the more I feel NW was just not right for us as a prem league club. I don't think NW ever backed his own ability whereas Hughes talks ambition and obviously has a lot of confidence in himself.
I don't think it's a mixed reaction - close to 80% in favour....that's a landslide. For those who aren't impressed with his appointment who would you rather have....and please work on the basis that NW isn't an option. Be realistic, we are still a relatively small club with potential. We are not going to attract the super stars of world football management. His record is extremely good at clubs of our size and that's good enough for me
Another question is, who is also available and would want to come in? MH is the best out of work manager available at this time..and maybe his appointment will mean that some of the players we are after, Samba, Bridge, Alex, Hoiwett, Zamora, Johnson, Yakubu will want to join.
Sparky is back at W12 today for a second day of talks with the club but his comments after the meeting yesterday didn't exactly inspire me with confidence. He wants a club that will match his ambition? - ooooh, swipe me! I reckon the Fulham supporters (both of them) will be giggling like school kids at the thought of him joining us. He must have been given the same old platitudes from Al Fayed, would the same "Yes Mark, anything you want Mark" routine sound any different from Fernandes? I get the feeling that pinning his colours to the mast early on is just a built in escape clause for Mark Hughes. Is his agent the same bloke who looks after Carlos Tevez? Maybe a deal could be done there? Now that would be ambitious!!!
Well happy with this appointment. An ambitious manager which shows our guys must be just as ambitious to get him.
