Mark Hughes is pleased to have brought additional experience to his Queens Park Rangers squad and will now focus on signing some younger players.

Andrew Johnson, Ryan Nelsen and England international Rob Green have all signed at Loftus Road in June in order to bring some know-how to a squad who only avoided Premier League relegation on the final day of 2011/12.

Combined with the likes of Shaun Derry and Clint Hill, who has signed a contract extension, Hughes thinks he has players with the necessary wealth of understanding to address away form which saw QPR suffer a league high of 14 defeats on the road last season.

And Hughes will now turn his attention to bringing in some younger faces to blend the squad he inherited from Neil Warnock in January.

The QPR boss, who managed Johnson at Fulham and Nelsen at Blackburn, told his club's official website: "We were a little bit naive away from home last season.

"I've obviously worked with AJ and Ryan before and I know they are two calming influences, with great leadership skills and quality, too.

"Rob is vastly experienced as well - with international pedigree.

"I'm sure we'll see other players at the other end of the age scale arriving at the club over the coming weeks. But it was vitally important we added some experience to the group this summer."

I thought that when I saw the article. At least it means no Danny Murphy.

Ill forgive him if we sign that Real player, Siggy and 3 others of equal standing!

    Best title for ages.

Of course we sign the oldies first - the youngsters aren't ever on frees.

    [he says in hindsight]
