According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal is interested in signing Mario Götze. Although it’s the Daily Mirror who is notorious for talking rubbish I think he’s a great prospect and could be a great addition to the squad.

So does anyone believe there is any truth in the story? and would you like him at Arsenal?

I think we are interested but then again we are probaly 'interested' in a lot of players. It all depends on how much Wenger feels we need him and how much he is actually worth.

Oh and I would love him at Arsenal. The guy is a just creative force and can play in the middle or on the wings.

He has a lot of potential and when he played against Arsenal he was very dangerous. He’s only 19 I think so he has the potential to improve greatly. He reminds me of Nasri as he’s good at running with the ball and also seems to have vision to make difficult passes so I could see him playing well with Van Persie and Gervinho.

That tells you that he's something special and the Bundesliga is quite strong again and is similar the Premiership in regards to the physical aspect of the game (although not as intense ) So he would probably not find it too difficult to adapt to the Premiership.

Everyone will want Gotze, especially with the Euros.

However, Per may help the Gunners get him. DFB sticks together.

Well considering we bid around £25 Million for him in the Summer its pretty safe to assume we are interested.

Mario Goetze is phenomenal, as good as Wilshere.

I still think M'Villa is the more likely 'big money' signing (if we make one) though.

Every time I have watched Gourcuff he's been awful, as for M'Vila I think he's overrated and agree that what weve got right now i.e. song/Wilshere are better than him. I would love to get both Goetze and Hazard but there no way we would get both as Wenger would argue that it would damage Ramsey or Walcots career etc. Hazard looks like is going to Spain so realistically were more likely to get Goetze

I think hazard is better than gotze but I think gotze is not what we need. We bid 30-35 million for him and it got rejected, would wenger go higher?

don't think he would fit in with our new-look team's style of football. last season everything went through cesc and he gave it to someone else to score or banged it in himself. this season without him, the new tactic is to get the ball to rvp in dangerous positions, and all players are having a go at this. if we bought götze, we would either go back to going through a playmaker or he would become more or less anonymous in our style of play, like arteta.

götze is more like nasri and could easily fit in the wings to accommodate him, last season we relied on Wilshire, nasri and Cesc to make the killer pass and I could see him working well with Ramsey and Wilshire to provide for Van Persie. Our style of play last year was fluid and we arguably had the best midfield so i wouldn’t mind going back to that.
