Bit before my time, but a lot more than meets the eye to her IMO. Shall investigate her recent work and the 70s Album on Spotify I think.
RIP indeed, she never had much rest or peace in her life. I never understood what the hell she was all about to be honest ... ... but realised later what a talent she was, easily as much a national icon as Judi Dench and the like. For anyone interested this is worth a read ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9dynd605x0o One of the best pieces of music set in any film, ever, is this and still sends a tingle through me ... ... play it on your own as loud as you can.
I was never really a fan, but she always seemed to have a beautiful soul, RIP Marianne. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and her friends at this sad time
Brilliant song, loved the "raspy" voice she developed as she matured. Broken English album will be played tonight, R.I.P. Bonny Lass.
I doubt she ever had or even wanted a career to be honest ... ... life seemed to happen to her and I don't think she ever went looking for it. She was totally unique and incredibly humble from what I know.
