Terribly sad story from Spain. Manuel Preciado had just taken the Villarreal job, was due to be announced as their manager tomorrow morning. Sadly passed away this morning from a heart attack aged 54.

For those who don't know his story, he lost his wife to cancer in 2002, his 15 year old son in a car crash two years later, and also his father to an accident in Santander in 2011.

He's best known in Spain for taking Sporting Gijon to the top flight in 2008, and keeping them there before being sacked in January.

Also ended mourinho's nine year unbeaten home record.

Stories like this make me realise just how fortunate I am.

RIP Manuel. Hopefully, you're reunited with your wife, son and father!

I'm literally lost for words. To lose 3 close members of your family must be devastating. At least he will be with them now. R.I.P.

That's one unfortunate individual. Did great things with Sporting though.
