In some very weird twilight zone type world in which I don't exist, yeah. This is indeed a ****ing huge game. Brighton away.
The big question is, if we somehow don't win, will Mourinho regale us with the story of how his Chelsea beat United in the 2007 final?
I still want to win the FA Cup but still haven’t gotten over being dumped out of the champs league by a poor Sevilla side. Having a hard time getting excited about this one.
Anyone see Jose's pre-match conference? 12 minute rant about how great he is and how United lack Champions League 'heritage'. It's all the fault of United's history we lost you see, nothing to do with the **** show brought about by his tactics. Maybe Jose needs to look at his own recent record - last eight seasons, only two league titles and nothing in the Champions League despite managing three of Europe's biggest clubs/budgets and some of the best players in the world.
That is why he will have trouble getting the likes of Pogba, Sanchez giving him 100%. He is willing to throw the club under the bus to enhance or save his own reputation. If he agitates for a move to PSG and PSG pays us we should let him go.
Pogba's biggest problem at the moment is that he has one eye firmly on staying fit for the summer World Cup. There is no way he intends to bust a gut for us only to injure himself and miss playing for France in Russia. Sad, but I suspect, very true.
Exactly, how can players follow a manager who shows such contempt for the club? The lot of them, Mourinho, Pogba, Sanchez, are only here for the money.
Well if you believe what he said in his 'rant' then he isn't agitating for a move. He made reference to the fact he could be at a club that got the league in its pocket, obviously PSG, and hinted at leaving United in a better state when he leaves. Which suggests not soon. If he's staying he needs to massively up his game and get his head round the fact you win football matches by scoring goals. His approach to the Sevilla game was unforgivable, don't blame the players. I do agree with him though that he inherited a bag of **** left by van Gaal. That bloke set us back a decade. Hilarious how many of you fell for it.

Why do we keep bringing LvG's name up in these conversations? We didn't think it was right for LvG to blame Moyes. So why are we excusing Mourinho blaming LvG after the ****load that he has spent? To me, that argument from Mourinho is completely baseless. LvG men actually controlled games by holding on to the ball. Granted, they couldn't score to save their lives, but they were darn good at pressing. City and Pool could get no where us when LvG was around. But sadly that gameplan rarely worked with lower teams. However, when Mourinho took over, all that he needed to do was harness that pressing attribute and get goals out of the players. But no, he's completely turned all the outfield players into wonderful defenders. Also, fans gave LvG zero respect while he was here. Mourinho on the contrary, has had so much leverage but he still bi*ches and moans. I like Mourinho, but he must own his sh*. There is no one else to blame here. Well, we could also blame Pogba's love for his barber too more than doing his fkin job as a player.
Because I witnessed van Gaal's teams at close hand, often. They were ****ing ****e. Want to see the ball in your own goalkeepers hands direct from a corner? Watch a van Gaal team. How many of his (fifteen ish?)signings are still here? Two. Do they play? No. That's why pal.
I’ve seen many United managers over the years, from Busby to Mourinho. LVG must be one of the worst (if not the worst) yes, he won the FA cup but with him as manager I’ve for the only time in my life not wanted to watch a football match played by United. His football literally put people to sleep. He prized possession like nothing else. I remember one match we deservedly lost at OT. We had 80% possession and LVG thought that was one of the best matches we had played.
Bit of a chore to watch again. We should be doing so much better. All the more galling after Liverpool knocked in five yet again. Mourinho says the players were scared to play. Of course they ****ing were - it's a soulless brand of football that relies on tactical discipline and making no defensive mistakes for which you will publicly slate the players after every game. It's not difficult to see why the players are shrinking under that. It's not like Fergie who would often send players out with a final message to enjoy the game and express themselves.
