Great news, he's been one of our best players over the last couple of years, i'm glad he's staying with us - http://www.theguardian.com/football/...k-new-contract
Desperate from Moyes. Ignoring club contract policy due to staggering lack of midfield options. #worried
I actually think Carrick is one of the most underrated players in the league and age shouldn't really be a problem with his style of play. I know a lot is said about how weak your midfield is but Carrick for several years has helped you dominate games, even the big ones at times. His quick intelligent passing and switching of play allows for you to take control of the game. It's strange as he's also the most defensive of your players intelligently breaking up play in front of the defense so he's almost playing two roles. He uses his brain and reads the game to intercept instead of diving in after being left with no other choice. It might be said about a lot of players but if Carrick was foreign he would be rated a lot higher over here. I don't even know why I'm saying this but it's probably because I remember how useful he was when he played for Spurs and I think he's become a much better player now. Should've played a lot more for England too. Would've provided a better balance to the side and help with possession.
Carrick has had two decent seasons for United, against good opposition he is literally a traffic cone. #nochanceofclwiththatmidfield

Michael Carrick could be out for about 6 weeks after under*going a procedure to resolve a persistent Achilles injury.
That's simply not true. He has been playing regularly at a high level for a team that has won many trophies and leagues and he's definitely played a big part in that. Do you honestly think he's never played against any good opposition over all these years and had an impact? Just last season in both games against Real Madrid he was by far the best player on the pitch. Is that good enough opposition for you? Admittedly the rest of their midfield isn't the great but the times when they've dominated play against City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and whoever else, who do you think helps them keep possession? If you're talking about a few games against Barcelona then tell me who wouldn't struggle against them in the form they were in. Even then, the problem was more to do with the manager's tactics and the other central midfield partners like Anderson and Giggs who shouldn't have even been on the same pitch. As for having no chance of winning a CL, I'm sure he has already played a whole CL final which his team won.
You might as well bang your head on a wall instead of writing a decent and thought out post about a Utd player. Scousers are the font of all knowledge when it comes to football. If you didn`t already know all Utd players are rubbish and Liverpool have man for man got the best team in the world. They are only camped on the Utd board at the moment as they realise deep down that time is fast running out for them to brag about their position in the league.
... he is by far our best midfield players .. beside didn't Gerrard signed 2 years contract too some months ago ?
