i hope Sir Alex will not start Rooney .. he need to be sitting on the bench
as much as i think rooney is a great player, but when he play such a crap game in last match, he need to be dropped or it will send wrong message to other players and even Rooney himself .. Chicha or Welbeck should start .. SIMPLE

Disagree about Rooney, people have bad games. It's part of life, we all have bad days at work ect. We just keep working hard and make the next day a better one.

Yeah I was thinking that, he works his nuts off and rarely has a bad game like that.

Did alright against city if I remember rightly! X

He's not a player who gets frustrated and then just disappears or makes a scene a la Balotelli. He still works hard for the team. Sometimes it amazes me people forget how much of a team player Rooney is.

well as much as i agree with you guys .. but we have 2 other good strikers .. what message that will give them.. Rooney himself need to feel his place is under threat
knowing Sir Alex, i will not surprised if I see him starting on the bench

I suggest you rewatch the Norwich game, the last time Rooney didn't play, due to injury. RVP and Hernandez were dreadful together because there to similar. Welbeck on the other hand is simply not good enough to be starting league games, he's a mid table striker. So Rooney has to start

i will not blame chicha or Welbeck if they wanted to leave then
tbh there was other games where Rooney struggled just to Chicha to come and save the day for us

Rooney isn't really playing as an out and out striker though, he's playing in the hole, a position Hernandez would be hopeless in. If we are going to drop Rooney then the only player that i could see filling his position would be Kagawa.

In modern football you can only really afford to play 1 out and out striker, or you'll just get overrun in midfield so it's not a case of Rooney or Hernandez, it's a case of RVP or Hernandez, and for me RVP just edges it, even though I rate Hernandez highly aswell

RVP can play in that role though
tbh is important for me that a player been drop when playing bad .. and Sir Alex did that alot and many times to Rooney before .. and my gut feeling he will do it tomorrow too

He would certainly be better than Hernandez in the hole, but I'm not convinced that he could play it aswell as Rooney. RVP is more of a goal scorer than a creater. He does have a few assists but that's largely down to the fact he takes alot of corners and free kicks.

Every player has a bad game from time to time, even the very best. I myself would start Rooney, and I think SAF will do the same, but well see tommorow

IMO RVP would be fine in the hole, but he's playing well leading the line. Similar to Rooney in 09/10. He was playing well up front on his own, but was always better exploiting the space another striker provides in the defense, but at that time him playing as an out and out striker was our best option. From what I've seen this year, Chicharito has massively improved his game. He might not do well behind the striker but I feel he'll have a lot more success playing with other strikers.

RVP was never a poacher type of strikers and more a 2nd striker but moved as main striker role bcz Arsenal had non after selling adebayour .. just watch him in UTD shirt, he go back defending and create many chances in the game

If we start well, 3-0. If we don't score in the first half and play a cautious game we are in trouble. United: Draw or lose IMO.

You're not having a great season but you still have a good team i dont think any of us will be expecting an easy victory, though being at home i would be disapointed if we didn't win.

<yikes>. I think players like RVP (hate him but undeniably good), Valencia, Vidic and Cleverley will be too good for us. On top of that, Evra, Rafael and Young are Carrick are capable of performing to a very high level. Your biggest liability is probably Rooney. If you lose, it will probably be because of him.

You put 3 past us at SJP. I might be overly negative but I see no reason why you can't hit more than that this afternoon.

    Interesting.

Assuming you ARE serious, I guess you're basing this on the Swansea game. One match.

You should have perhaps have also watched the derby.

Good luck with him being a liability. <ok>
