Vs Monday April 8th, Old Trafford, 8pm kick off. Can't wait for this, the players will be motivated after what happened against our neighbours last season, even though we're 15 points ahead in the league, i want us to win the game, that would edge us closer to our 20th title.
The manager will be doing his press conference today at 12pm, you can see the programme at 1pm on MUTV.
It's important not to lose this game, a draw will do city morale damage a plenty and they will believe they can't win the league. A United loss will give them hope, so not losing is paramount in this one, it's as good as over if City don't win.
I can see us winning 5-0 or 6-0, we have the best striker in the league (RVP), many people were saying he will just get injured but he's been world class, scoring so many winning goals for us, it's only a matter of time before he starts scoring again. We'll play Barcelona-like football, our midfield maestros of Kagawa, Cleverley will play intricate one-touch football with Welbeck, Rooney and RVP, I can't see City having any chance. De Gea is the best keeper in the league as well, everyone was writing him off at the start of the season but he's been great, he makes world class saves, I always said he'll be the best keeper in the world within 2 years, he's only 21 years old now anyway. tennisball has gone fishing... Who will be the first to bite?
For the season to not just fizzle out, and ballsing up the FA cup has meant there's a massive danger that it will, we need to target this as a must win. No point pissing about just trying to not lose, we did that in the away game last season and it ultimatley cost us the title. Not that it should this time but even so playing to not lose is negative and tends to lead to us losing anyway so we should be looking to win well for some bragging rites and to give the support something to be chuffed about. These comfortable one nil wins are becoming a bit tedious and only add to the (incorrect) idea that we are winning the league because everyone else is **** while we are average, we should be now looking to win games well and go out with a bang, so to speak. The other target should be to give Chelsea a good hiding and try to get them out of the top four. Little targets like this are something to aim for.
I agree, I'd like us to put a marker down and give a really good performance against City, and a nice convincing result to match. If we put in a poor performance it'll just dilute the entire season's excellent league performance unfortunately, it'll be great to show why we deserve to be 15 points clear of everyone else.
I think City will get a win but that you lot will grind out enough points over the remainder of the season so that you still win the league.
Looks like Rooney and Rafael will play on monday, that's fantastic news, i felt we missed the former on monday.
Whoever gets the tactics sorted out will likely come out on top Both parties have messed up tactically and been punished for it recently, ferguson playing Park at the Etihad last year and Mancini starting with the ****wit at the etihad this season spring to mind immediately as game changers. As ever is the case with City we dont like teams that play a high tempo pressing game like everton or southampton but actually prefer teams that sit behind the ball and concede possession which Utd sometimes do against Arsenal then hit them on the break but dont recall them doing that against anyone else? Without question our weakness is teams that break quickly out wide as we have quite a pedestrian side that can be easily stretched with pace, something which is rarely seen though fortunately. I expect City to start slowly and cautiously and look to pinch the game late on when fitness may well come in to it Hart Zabaleta Kompany Nastasic Clichy Milner Barry Tevez yaya Silva aguero Would be my preferred line up but you never no with the Italian Alan Ball in charge
