It’s not [a recurrence of a previous injury]. Not at all. It’s a new injury. He has been cut in two by Mascherano and he did his knee. We have to see how big the damage is in his knee. He is consulting a specialist at the moment. Hopefully we will have good news. How long is he out for exactly? I don’t know. on Welbeck… He has been out for a while, we still need to be cautious with him. on if Welbeck could start on Sunday… I haven’t picked my team yet for Sunday. I cannot tell you that now at the moment. He is back in the squad but we still have to be cautious with him. He is still in the squad and he is not completely over his knee problem. He has done really well and is very fit. I have to analyse that. on Wilshere… He is not back in full training yet. on other team news… Everyone else is the same as before, so there’s no Rosicky, Cazorla, Wilshere. please log in to view this image
It's been 8 seasons since we've won a league game at old trafford going all thr way back to August 2006 when Adebayor scored the winner, that is one right ****e record. We are due a good league result at that place. After beating Leicester 2 weeks ago we need to be going to 0T and getting the 3 points.
Never easy at OT. Expect us to struggle. Draw a likely result I think. We will make United's B side look like Barcelona before bundling in a late equaliser. 2-2
Massive ****ing game. I hope our players get the Barca game out of their system because we never really had a chance in that game, anyway, but this is there for the taking if and that's a massive if, our players turn up.
This is a game you should win easily, as much as it's been said on our board about every game this season in (jest and derision), I am hoping we can achieve a 0-0 draw.
You never know which Arsenal is going to turn up, but I just can't see us getting anything more than a draw from this. United will start off brightly and pressurise us from the off to get a deserved opener. Then we'll equalise just before half-time against the run of play. We'll come into the second half with more hope and spirit and go 2-1 up. Then in the last 20 minutes, we will tire and Wenger will respond by putting on some defensive subs to 'see the game out', but we'll concede once more from anywhere between the 85th-90th minute and it will finish 2-2. Wenger will talk it up as a 'good point' and the fans will have a mixed view on the result.
Yeah this. Agreed. Or United will dominate the 1st half, score a wonder goal and we'll go into half time 1-0 down. We'll equalise midway through the 2nd half through an Ozil flick on and win a penalty in the 90th minute which Giroud will miss. 1-1 the final score.
We absolutely have to win,we have to get to the summit of the premiership and stay there,no margin for any error or this season is threatening to collapse like any of the past 05 to pre ozil era.I hope leicester lose and we can take over straight away from...just a dozen of games left. COYG.
We are significantly better than manure this season but going over to OT is tricky. I'm still not sure about this team and find that we're just a tad inconsistent. We should get a win but we might get nervous and get a draw. Hoping we go there and steamroller them but depends which Arsenal turn up...
Considering the fact that there are two big games tomorrow, I can't believe how quiet this site has been tonight. Nothing on this thread since 5.13pm and not even a match thread on our board. The scouser board is very lacking on the CoC final thread and the City board is just dead. Is it nerves or something else ?
It has been oddly quiet on the individual team boards. No idea why...maybe too many people wumming the PL board instead of focusing on the football lol Could it be the time of year? Just after half term?
Hoping De Gea is out for this one, he is capable of keeping them in games they've got no right to remain in! The BBC thread on the game says they are monitoring him, so hopefully he isn't quite ready.
Likewise really hope de gea isnt playing, they are monitoring a number of players (a little like when we played liverpool a few months ago) so their team could be quite different by kick off.
If Welbeck is fit, I'd be tempted to start him today on the right. He will be fired up for this game and it will add some real spice. He's done well since he came back and he injects some really direct play, which is exactly what we need as everybody else seems too reluctant to shoot sometimes.
