I firmly believe that these cups are becoming less relevant for the bigger teams due to impact of the expansion of the Champions League. In an interview with Poch this week, he said something to that effect... Top 4 finish, or win FA cup? Most fans will choose Top 4 finish 9 times out of 10.

Does anyone here even remember that LvG won the FA Cup?

The midfield has been terrible today. We can barely get going.

Reading impressed me. We got the job done, but the players were sh* today. Too many changes, I guess.

I’d choose an FA cup win personally.

    Yeah, so would I.

This season top four does have more significance in that it shows genuine progress for both Ole and the team if they somehow pull it off, under difficult circumstances.

We could/should progress onwards if we get it.

Ordinarily though I'd have the cup over it.

Yeah top 4 is important to be able to develop the team and show progression. There’s just nothing special about achieving it. Love winning the FA cup.

Don’t feel the same about the league cup tho always thought that was second rate in comparison.

Ultimately, top 4 is about Champions League. I think that holds massive significance which FA Cup can't give.

Arsenal, for example, have the FA how many times in the past fifteen years? But does anyone ever consider that an achievement for Wenger? I think not. But if he wasn't making top 4 all those years, he would have been long gone.

I would argue that FA Cup is significant when won with the league for the double.
