We'll be taking on the Champions of England and Germany this week which should produce a very stern test. To my mind neither club is as strong as they were last season due to managerial changes and I feel we are in a better position ourselves than last year.

Mourinho has confirmed the only injury question marks are over Luiz and Kalas. Luiz will train with the squad later this week

Thoughts on team selection for tomorrow and the game itself?

Willian and Luiz to feature against Bayern?

I wonder where he will play Luiz , assuming he's back on Friday! For me ,the most important one is MU! Bayern will be looking for revenge , and as far as I'm concerned they can have it! The PL is the one we must focus on closely follwed by the CL!

I disagree Bluemoon, am I right there is no game for two weeks because of internationals before we play Everton after the Bayern game.

Beating United is critical, but if we do, then every bit of energy needs to be put in to beat Bayern, lets not forget we made a shambles of an easier game last year in it, I would love Roman to have the only trophy he has yet to win in his tenure too, I think Jose might want to as well, didn't he lose with Porto in 03

Im lucky enough to be going to both! Off to Manchester on a 13.00 train and then Prague on Thursday night. Buzzing for tomorrow. Has potential to be a cracking game with an insane atmosphere. We've sold out both and I really can't wait.

I don't think Luiz or Willian will play in either

The purchase of Willian ( IF he gets a work permit ) and Eto'o apparently, seems to me to give us more questions than answers.
Man Utd will be the more interesting game for me, because it has real meaning . Bayern would be good for the ego, but not much else.

The Manu game is the big one.The other is a glorified friendly.

We saw how little it meant last year. We went on to win in Europe in the same comp that Ath Madrid were in and they went out early.

Jose will try to win both, that's the way he plays, The Supercup is still Silverware and he wants to take down Pep.

So good luck V Fritz, but lose v UTD :)

I disagree. Nothing will be lost if we lose today. The return game at Stamford Bridge (whenever it is) will be more significant in deciding the title. The Super Cup was where we started to show the cracks that Juventus, Shaktar and United later exploited.

Beating Bayern would me a massive lift for this side and give us the psychological edge in Europe and the Premier League.

I don't want to lose any game but if offered a win in only one, I'd choose Friday every time, it's not every day you get to face Bayern Munich for silverware.
