You truly don't know the offside rule, do you? He's behind the ball when it is crossed, and before that is irrelevant unless he impedes play or the vision of the goalkeeper. It's there in the rules if you want to read them - there's being in an offside position, and there's being offside infringing on play. Read the rules mate, as I pride myself that the Liverpool board is a million times more knowledgable than the ****wits on the Prem Board. No offence, but you're better than this.

watching thr 4 subs come on today and run for 30 seconds approx then just stop and not get close to any city player was hilarious.

Normally, substitutes are meant to change the course of a game or shore up a winning position in the latter stages. I looked on in disbelief yesterday to see what was coming on and it was a joke. I presume Klopp wanted to rest the few half decent players we still have. Our squad has been too small for a long time and the quality of the squad players is not good enough

trent ran about for 30seconds out of pure frustration and klopp berated him. didn't applaud. didn't eat the **** out of anyone for not covering him. just tore into trent who was plainly seen shrugging what the **** then slowly jogged back at his slot and never crossed half way again

in times gone by a player doing that would have been roared on and applauded.

I would like to have seen Nunez on from the start in fairness, mostly because he tries his best and puts in a shift. There was a lot more wrong with the team yesterday than the substitutions, we need to start with the midfield. Grealish was allowed to gallop around like a foal in springtime, nobody seemed bothered enough to put in a tackle. There was so much space and time for City in midfield, no pressure on the ball, they strolled it and Klopp is right, they could have had a hatful more goals if they really wanted.
Klopp had nothing to say to the players after the game. If I were Klopp, I would have said that some of you won’t be here next season because you don’t seem interested

grealish is so utterly ****. giving him that time to have sky going over him when just getting tight and knocking him out of the game would be no problem. very poor

all he is is a cut in and flop **** head. in ye olden days city had bought nasri from arsenal it was so easy mark him.out of game by just driving him in field till he back passed.

you have to actually engage these guys and make it tough so they fade from game.

What I’m saying is offside was a brought in to stop the forward getting an unfair advantage by being closer to goal than defenders (ie goal hanging).

Put it this way, do you think de bruyne has more of a chance of scoring from that cross if he’s already 7 yards ahead of the defence when ball is played forward, or if he’s his own goal side of Konate when the ball goes wide?

Like I say, I know it’s not offside. But the rule just favours the atacker and takes all kind of skill out of that. In theory just have someone standing on pen box and ping it wide and guy can be waiting there for the cross without having to contest with the defenders.

If he's in an "onside" position when the ball is played out wide, there is zero chance he gets there before VVD so yeah, definitely an advantage in that sense.

come on. Every team, manager and player know these rules and therefore play accordingly. no point complaining when someone takes advantage as we ourselves have done on many occasions.

I agree with that - that's what happened with Kane a few years ago when that lump Lovren swiped at a ball he didn't have to because Kane was behind him. Think we had one at Watford last season too that went our way. But the alternative is that any player who's been in an offside position - even if it's not the same phase of play- is deemed to be offside if they end up scoring. Wasn't Gakpo initially offside against Everton until Coady went for it? We've had a few go our way too.
