"NEDUM Onuoha's £3million move to QPR has been put on hold while Vincent Kompany serves a four-game ban.

The Manchester City defender was on Neil Warnock's radar before he was sacked this week, but new boss Mark Hughes is still keen on the 25-year-old, who played under the Welshman during his time in charge of the Blues.

However, Kompany's controversial red card in Sunday's FA Cup defeat to Manchester United leaves City short of options at the back, and Onuoha is needed at the Etihad Stadium as cover.

But the centre-back is expected to finalise a move to Loftus Road when the Dutchman completes his suspension at the end of the month."
