Today may be one of the most momentous day in QPR's history if the transfer rumours are to be believed. SWP,Crouch,Ridgewell,Jenas,Ferdinand,Bellamy, the list goes on and on depending on which source you happen to stumble upon. It could be the day that Warnock brings in half a team of quality PL players that are the envy of many, and after the lows of the last 15 years and the recent ownership debacle, few would begrudge us our day in the sun. Whoever comes, the man whose mettle will be put to the test is Mr Warnock himself;his task if the transfers materialise will be to summon up those famous man-management skills of his and try to keep the lid on the frothy pot. Even prior to this latest wave, many wondered how things would go in the dressing room with Barton and Taarabt; add to this a handful of established PL performers with egos to match and the potential for disharmony increases. Those who will be pushed to the side in the rush for selection will put their special ingredient in the pot. The "new" team will have to hit the ground running and gel immediately as we have no time for bedding in, we have already dropped valuable points against teams in the bottom half of the table. So we, the long suffering supporters, will have to have a bit of understanding and patience for Sir Neil. He has an unbelievably hard job to do whether we get the new signings or not.
The PL is a 38 game season. And 3 games have already gone. While its certainly the case that the new signings will need time to gel there isn't scope for a prolonged period where we fall behind the pack. NW needs to get his new squad up-and-running from Newcastle onwards otherwise someone somewhere is going to be questioning the very large investment that seems to be going into the club.
not worried, these are the players who do not have to gel , class players have more insights of running and passing i believe nw has got it just right so instead off wondering how we were going to stay in the premiership, i say now we will certain to stay up
Hope you're right Loftom. Things don't always function as they should;took Man City a few years to get their team to gel. Always a danger when you introduce a few players at the same time; be better to introduce one or two at a time but we don't have that luxury. Hey, I'm not complaining, far from it; but it is a factor to be recognised.
