Following the comments by Ricky Martin on the Pink Un board, what do people on here think about our change of policy towards a distribution of managerial responsibilities between several individuals? Do you feel it's a logical way to go in an increasingly complex football world or will it be too many cooks spoiling the broth? I'd be interested to know what people think on this.

The job of football manager has become so convoluted recently. The introduction of a lot of sport science and other requirements has meant that there's far more to the managerial job than needs to be handled by one man. Personally I think it's a good idea to divide the job up and give the constituent parts to people who are best positioned to do it.
The Football Exec Board also introduces an element of collective responsibility and the ability to fix parts that aren't working more easily than before without complete overhaul.

This is why many managerial appointments bring in their own "team", which we hear Malky wanted to do.
I'm quite happy with divvying up the role as long as the manager is clearly not in the role of a divvy!

It's worth reading the Pink'un article about Ricky Martin's role and that of the Head of Recruitment as well. I wonder how different this is really. Is this what Gary Karsa was doing under Lambert? I'm glad to see Adams concentrating on the football rather than that and everything else as well and it's good to hear how hard the players worked in triple sessions last week and how fit they are already. That's hugely important in the modern game. I also like the more direct involvement of the Director of Recruitment and McNally himself, who I'm sure won't interfere with Adams' football decisions like some Director of Football gurus do at other clubs. The proof will be in the results this season, but it looks good to me.
