Thomas Tuchel - Chelsea - sacked after 20 months in charge after 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb yesterday evening.
It really makes me cringe how some of the Prem clubs fire their managers after 4 or 6 games. At least we give our managers a fair crack of the whip to build their own sides/styles.
Tuchel has had the best part of 2 years and has also seen the club under a transfer embargo and the loss of their benefactor due to the Ukraine situation, and they have new owners in place for the last 3 months. Tuchel still won 3 trophies in that time (according to the BBC). But as usual it's about 'here and now' results. Zagreb have had a really poor record in European competitions over the years. They've won just 5 of 43 European games. I guess it depends whether Chelsea already have someone waiting in the wings ? As for Scott Parker, losing 9-0 to anyone isn't going to give you job security. I guess the owners/chairman's reasoning is to do it early in the season to give them the best possible chance of survival.
To be honest nor did I, and I don't regularly follow the Premiership in terms of its teams or results. I'm honestly happier watching the National League, which is still proper football, played in the right spirit, as it used to be.
The transfer embargo was only at the back end of last season, so it didn't stop them from buying anyone in the transfer window from memory, but it did stop contract negotiations for players out of contract at the end of last season.
Looks like Chelsea have the Brighton Manager on their radar. Whether that was already the plan before they sacked Tuchel who knows

well OS fair or foul? 2/3rds of the teams are between 15 pts and 11pts [ inclusive ] so would be fair to say that depending on next 2 fixtures for all these teams there could be a big turnaround especially if they play each other!!! Cardiff 2 home v Burnley and Blackburn beat Blackburn who may not get more than a point from Millwall and you get 3 teams separated by just a couple points as Millwall is away to Rotherham! who would have tough fixture against WIGAN ...ETC ETC Could be a really tight grouping of 16 middle order teams.. Cardiff even being up near 17pts ...!!!
A bit premature isn’t it? , a win yesterday and you’d have been level points with 8th & 1 point off of 5th.
Been playing better football this season, but losing football none the less. 1 win in the last 7 games is evidence enough. Like I said, it looks like other issues within the club have had an influence.
