Next season we will see the likes of Van Gaal/Mourinho, Klopp, Guardiola, Conte in the prem against each other.

We all know the media can make or break any manager or player should they wish, This got me thinking back to Rafa's rant at LFC and his famous notes, Forgetting they were all actual facts the media used it as a stick to Mock him with.

Again in Moureens 2nd coming, he wasnt so well received as the 1st time and for sure when the results wernt coming the media jumped all over him for everything from canaero to losing the dressing room to doing badly just to get revenge on roman ect.

Wenger seems to have dodged this somewhat, less so in recent years but has never had to deal with a sustained barrage of bad publicity imo.

Fergie, well we all know he had them running scared and that alone had its influences.

Do we think the media take liberties with some managers more than others due to lack of respect or character?

Who will be the next "big time charly" to feel the sharp edge of the uk media's sword?

id say if results dont go smoothly for Pep at city pretty quickly, the media will be foaming at the mouth to be the first to say "he cant handle the prem, Been found out at his 1st real challenge" ect

Poch will be under pressure to sustain spurs rise into the top4. he has a slight advantage in that he has a few english internationals in the side and the uk media are loving that at the moment, so he should be safe bar a free fall down the lge pre xmas.

Klopp's got no worries, they, us, everyone and his nan loves klopp :)

If van Gaal is still at utd id expect the same as this season. total humiliation via the papers.

Conte and the chavs have some work to do, as no one likes the chavs and even the media would like to see them continue to fail, getting rid of the special needs one will help but not a lot, again if he struggles before xmas i can see the knives being sharpened.

so whos 1st for the media "chop"?

The spotlight was on Wenger when he was called out as a "specialist in failure".Probably because it was a fair assessment.

Spot on ... Wenger has been one of the most successful managers in EPL history ... just list the trophies ... whether it is the right time now for him to move on or not is another matter ... but outside of the Sky4 the fans of every other club in the country could only dream about the success that Arsenal have enjoyed under Wenger's tenure ...

He's got a bunch of Cont(e)s to works with. So, let's see how he does!

As for the media, they're like a pack of rabid dogs. They'll go after whoever looks vulnerable. If that happens to be Klipperty, he'll get it large too....

Klopp will be given the usual Liverpool promotion, but they'll all turn on him if he doesn't do well next season.
His touchline antics will become the focus of the media and they'll make his usual behaviour look like a mental breakdown.
The enormous number of ex-players in punditry is a double-edged sword for the Scouse.

If Mourinho does replace Loopy Louis, then it'll be interesting to see how he's treated.
I suspect that Ferguson will let the dogs loose on any dissenters, but it's another one that could go either way.
Good results will see him hailed as the new messiah, while poor ones will see a ton of articles about the demise of post-Fergie Utd.
You won't be able to move for stories, regardless of what happens.

Could it be Martinez, if he survives? Results don't match the quality of the players at Goodison.
He comes across well to the press, but that's never stopped them before.

I dont think it will be as soon as next season for Klopp to be perfectly honest, not with us winning the league next year anyway ;) but undoubtedly if and when the time comes that they do turn on him it will be exactly as you said. All the things they applaud about him now will be what they laugh about him then.

Moureen at UTD will be very interesting from a media perspective, should he not get them going very quickly id imagine a circus, his "specialist in failure" comment i can see being used back on him.

i noticed you never mentioned Poch, How do you think the media will view Poch/spurs if they struggle in maintaining a top 4 place/ title challenge? personally for me, should that happen i think poch will be let off slightly (go under the radar) due to so many thinking the usual suspects will resume as normal next year, so not a reflection on poch so much. Plus he is very much backed by the fans, like Klopp, so will get more leeway.

Leicester's title surge for example has totally distracted everyone to the Chavs own abysmal title defence this season. Luckily <laugh>

Conte will get a grilling next season. He's a chea

I personally think Martinez comes across as a cocky little gypo.

    Each to their own though!

There was plenty of media interest in Chelsea until Mourinho got the boot again.
Then it went away for two reasons: their form improved dramatically and their pretty quiet manager is only temporary.
No real story there, at the moment.

Pochettino could only really attract the media's attention with horrible or excellent form.
We started poorly this season and there wasn't much interest in him, nor many knives being sharpened.
The pundits all expect the likes of City, Chelsea and Liverpool to suddenly be brilliant, so if that's true then they'll be raving about it.
If we start well, then they'll be hyping him for a move to everyone that they can think of.

In the build-up to the Utd game they were linked with our manager and our main striker.
It's become par for the course.

Klopp's popularity will sink like a lead balloon as soon as things start to go pear shaped for Pool. Klopp is in passive aggressive mode at the moment with how he describes negative experiences with his new team. Just wait till he decides Jordan Henderson is **** or he starts to twist on the touchline or dares to question the media when they say something about Liverpool. Just like every Mourinho reign ends in the same way. Klopp's reign will end like it did at Dortmund. The middle bit will be very different to the reign at Dortmund. Playing the clown on Speed will only be funny for so long.

Poch I think will be fine, until he rejects any official moves from United. Then the media circus will start against him to get him to the other media's favourite club United.

Pep is ****ed in the long run regardless of his success. I can't say I give a damn. A part of me wants City to win the CL. Just so that that twat doesn't do his waving of a magic wand act and fool the world into thinking he has turned a club around.

Long live Wenger. Conte won't last. Everyone got money now in the PL. it's all about philosophies and Chelsea's stinks more than most.

  17. Klopp cannot have another season like the one. If he does, the media is going to cripple him.
