Well, here we are at the end of the season and so far - Wet Sham have parted company with Big Sam Derby have sacked the 'Wally with the brolly' Watford are close to replacing boss Slavisa Jokanovic with Getafe and former Atletico Madrid manager Quique Sanchez Flores Any more???? Who's next I wonder???? Rogers at Liverpool must be a fairly good bet!!!!
Do Watford even need a manager? It seems they played the same no matter who comes in. I wouldn't be surprised if Deeney takes over now, he's already the heartbeat of their team.
Makes a change for it not to go to a PL manager. Interesting to see what he can do next season. What's the odds Bournemouth v Chelsea, on TV, first weekend of the season?
I think Pellegrini will only go if Man City can tempt someone like Guardiola. Will be interesting to see if Ancelotti is tempted by anyone.
It is all pretty sickening, you get sacked for being useless then pick up a big fat cheque and then walk into another club who see you as the Messiah. Private Eye call it Planet Football and they are about right. By the way, can't see Hull ditching Bruce, but Carver is a gonner for sure as is Peregrine at Man Citeh, their European record is abysmal and to have lost the league by mid-April was equally pisspoor considering the investment.
And walk into that madhouse? Sure they're a big club, but in 6 months he could be out of a job for reasons beyond his control, and he'll look tarnished.
Advocaat has retired from football despite Sunderland offering a three year PLcontract. No manager, other than the desperate, would consider going to work for Ashley at Newcastle, so I think we are safe on that front.
While logically you are spot on GE, when has logic been a part of planet football? I will be happier when the appointment has been made, dafter things have happened.
I suspect that AN would show a bit of loyalty to the Club who have given him his big break and I suspect that he will have learnt a bit from the experience of a certain Mr Lambert. If you can turnaround the fortunes of a ' sleeping giant' like Villa, Newcastle or Sunderland your future is rosy but if, like dozens before, you fail then the scrapheap beckons. Would he want to take that chance when he knows that another season here will do him no harm no matter what happens?
I don't think Newcastle would go for him right now. He's not proven Premier League. Yes, his record is stellar and we know the difference he has made, but from a PL club pov lots of managers have managed to get promotions and you might argue that with our squad he should have managed a promotion. As Drunky says, it's if we are successful next season that we need to be concerned. Though I'd say we might benefit from Lambert's failure at Villa somewhat by making it look like a season successfully managing a promotion team does not amount to being successful at taking on a midtable PL team.
We will be fine this year with Neil, he'll want a run at the PL with the team he took there. There are too many basket cases in the league anyway. I also think few bigger clubs are going to go for a 33 year old manager Eddie Howe will be in demand but again will stay at Bournemouth at least another year.
