I'd agree with that, though Rodgers at Swansea or McDermott at Reading will have a decent shout too.

I actually don't rate rodgers, he had the foundations of a decent team, used his Chelsea connection well to get Sinclair and borini and really they are only 3 places better off this season than last.

I hope you don't mind me intruding...

Being biased, and knowing the team better, I'd say Lambert has done an excellent job. Also McDermott at Reading has done well, and has got the team playing for him. I'd expect them to challenge more strongly next season (although that is dependent on the quality of the teams coming down). Whilst I'm certainly not a Leeds fan, you could say Simon Grayson has done well to get Leeds just outside the play-offs after coming up from League 1 (although admittedly not as well as Lambert). Over the past couple of years I think Malky Mackay has done an excellent job at Watford in his first management role, and I don't think he gets all the credit he deserves for that.

Hope not, there's definetly more deserving candidates out there. Ok, he may have got them promoted (Friday's hearing depending) but the work done by Lambert, McDermott, Rodgers and possibly Mackay deserves more acknowledgement in my opinion.

to be honest, it wont happen but if you consider what nigel pearson has done in shipping out and shipping in players and finishing where we will, its a great effort also

Yeah i did think about NP and how he's transformed our squad from relegation to play off candidates in a matter of months. Had we made the play offs Nigel may have had a stronger claim but he's very much an outsider compared to the others that have been mentioned on this thread.
