Should we be worried that there are more clubs looking for new managers? Forest & Brum must be equally tempting jobs as the position at Cardiff.
Can't see Nigel Doughty paying for a big time manager. Brum will have a few applications, don't think we need worry if a manager prefers Forest or Brum than Cardiff then he's not for us.
No question that Brum and Forest are historically bigger clubs, but that doesn't make them the better option. Agreed we need a manager that wants to be here, and not one that came because he couldn't get a job somewhere else.
Agree with the comments. I'm just worried that we should have got our backsides into gear sooner! We don't want to end up with our 3rd choice option.
I heard yesterday that Villa wanted McLeish - no surprise he has resigned then particularly as they appear to have put Jolly Rog up for sale as well - 1 year to go on his contract. So yes, Brum could well target our list of hopefuls as could Forest. Might that add the poisoned dwarf to the increasing list for our job? Would we want him? Got Derby up 3/4 years ago I believe but then similar failures to DJ with Forest. He knows the division well and has good contacts.
Mcleish to Villa well that would put the cat amongst the pigeons bet burkey wishes he hadnt signed now, dont believe brum or forest will target our next manager they will want established names while the rumours from us are regarding up and coming managers. Hope we get Malky mackay actually.
why on earth would villa get mcleish? 1) i'd rather watch paint dry than watch birmingham play 2) he's been relegated twice with them 3) imagine the bad PR it would cause for villa 4) there are far better candidates out there
Hopefully we have our manager sorted already and are just tying up loose ends/finalising contracts etc, so this SHOULDN'T have an effect, if the board have a name to reveal next week as they claimed.
A name suddenly hijacked by Brum? Wouldnt be the first time! To be fair we seem to be going about things the right way these days. I hope your right.
Swamp Villa are desperate to get a known Prem manager with a record of winning something/anything. It would also be regarded as a coup to take Birmimgham's manager McLeish was undone by the injury to Jolly Rog's partner Dann and the sense of eupohoria around the club after winning the Carling - we won the cup so we can't go down!!! Also, despite the parachute payments due my sources in the midlands tell me he was going to get very little cash to rebuild while losing many of his squad and having the family jewels, Dann and Jolly Rog sold from under him. Hence his ejection of Teddy from the perambulator today.
BFB 'Villa are desperate to get a known Prem manager with a record of winning something/anything' fair enough, but he was relegated. if reports are to believed they rejected mcclaren (proven at mid size clubs), now to go for in my view, an average manager who has done okay, wouldnt be my idea of a step forwards if i were randy lerner. anyway, managers are 95% of the time judged on league positions (exeptions being teams like chelsea), and this guy clearly hasnt delivered. i wouldnt even want mcleish here, let alone a top 10 premierleague team.
