Herrera has been named by the prosecution in a match fixing scandal in Spain. Prosecutors allege almost one million euros was used to pay Levante players to lose their match against Zaragoza at the end of the 2010-11 season, with Herrera being one of 10 people who withdrew tens of thousands of euros funded by Zaragoza in order to pay bribes. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30489499 Life ban if he's found guilty ?
Will cause all kinds of problems for him and United. I don't know if there has ever been such a case before? A life ban seems possible.
We know that in cricket, the bans are quite severe and it would be only fair for anyone convicted of match fixing should get a significant ban.
What was the deal in Italy with the shenanigans? Were individual players highlighted or just the clubs themsleves? You've got to imagine that if it focuses on players they're going to want to make examples of them. See Montero of Swansea is also in the sh*t too.
Life ban is way too harsh. I am for a mild punishment - ten years ban is enough. And then he can come back and play for United.
Seconded. Not their fault, and I seriously doubt they had any knowledge of said incident beforehand. That's not to say I wouldn't find them suffering as a result of this slightly amusing but, you see, I'm a bit of a sh*t like that!
He plays for United, what more proof do you really need? Let him have his day in court and be found GUILTY, then ban the sucker for life.
Shame if it happens, he is a great player. Won`t affect United (or Arsenal) in any way though, we have enough players to cover his position (and Arsenal will still be poor)
