I hope it might shut up some of their 'supporters' that have never been to a match!

Crazy money, really think they are in a zone that will be hard to break out of.

Since the break up of giggs, scoles, beckham, neviles, etc they do not look anything like the utd we have seen over the last 15 years or so.

They have a terrible team as well apart from maybe 4/5 decent players, It's great listening to this on talk sport though ;)

Fergie left them with a weak squad, others clubs have strengthened and left utd trailing behind

    None at all-

A weakened side? De Gea, Welbeck, Janazaj, Anderson, etc all of which should be more than capable of putting a League 1 side away-

What makes me smile. is all the armchair fans, who have suddenly gone quiet-

I think that could be some time away John, imo Man city have the strongest squad with Chelsea close behind, Arsenal & Liverpool are inconsistent, thats it really with Everton & Spurs taking the 5th & 6th spots.

The world beaters that were Man Utd are dropping like a stone and the overpriced (aren't they all?) Di Maria will not give them the required answers and Van Gaal has a lot of demons to exorcise before long, or his time will also run out. Losing to the likes of MK Dons is not unusual in the League Cup and don't forget we have to visit them this season and quite frankly their business model puts ours in to the shade.

I can remember going to see them in their amateur days at Plough Lane and look where they are now and compare our limited, to say the least, success versus theirs.

When was the last time we had a crowd of 26,000 plus?

When was the last time we've had a 27,000 capacity? If we played Manure this week we would fill what's left of AG, last year we would of filled AG. Plus our average attendance is higher than MK Dons so a one off match against Manure can't count as putting our club into shade.
Their business model was thrown upon them and took years to get the youth coming through. We tried to do the same last season with the five pillars etc but everyone ran out of patience after a few months and wanted SL to dip into his funds again.
People seem to forget MK Dons are not Wimbledon, you ask any Wimbledon fan that and they will tell you. What their owners done was potentially ruin football and could of turned our great sport into the American way of just moving the club to another part of the country because they've got a better ground.

Anyway back to Manure, unless they address their biggest issue in sorting out the defence not spending 59 million on a winger they will won't recover for a long time. Fergie knew they needed a complete rebuild so left when his reputation was intact. I know they've bought Shaw, but they need at least two recognised central defenders as Jones and whoever their other one is are not solid enough. So far this summer they've spent 130 million and that's got them the grand total of one point and out of the league cup to a third tier team.

They might of sent a weakened team out, but how many times have we seen weakened Man U teams steam roller past the opposition?

People say about Man City and Chelsea spend x amount to buy success, I think a huge majority of the time Man U have always not been far behind each season on the spending front.

As to getting back to where they belong as England's most successful team. I don't want to break it to you but I doubt you will see that for a while yet, how long has it taken and still taking Liverpool? Man City and Chelsea are just pulling away now. And to think they've not spent 130 odd million this year.
It's time for all the glory hunters to start picking their new team to say they've followed since birth from the confines of the TV.

Moyes was the fall guy last season. Van Gaal this season?

I just believe that it is becoming very apparent that the "most successful manager in British football" managed to win titles in his last couple of years with very ordinary players.

He left the club with a very ordinary squad and is IMO, responsible for the mess that they are now in. It is proof that empires last for a length of time but in the end, all empires crumble.

How long will it be until the demise of the USA?
